Actually, if you post a measurement you should post the model/app you use for comparison.

When John was at Thunderhill Raceway with the full IPE system, valves open, they black flagged him with a trackside reading of 108db down the front straight.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

That is one of purpose of this thread as the test I listed is the same used at tracks here in Germany. So at a minimum European users will know if they will be able to get on the track or not. I have not looked up sound regulations on tracks in America. I will be throwing my stock back on to go out to the tracks this year. Hockenheim has a max limit of 90 db, at least thats what they say on the website. Might be able to get away with a little more.
BTW, did another tunnel run last night and the meter hit 123.1 db at redline in 4th, total tunnel cheat but hey its fun. |

I use "SPL Meter" and it's surprisingly accurate, at least compared to my $30 rat shack meter. |

DAmn... 112db with just a meisterschaft axle back? That is FREAKing loud. My car with just a RPI catless X pipe hit about 100-103db at redline on the dyno and I felt that was stupid loud!!!

Catless AA x pipe and AA exhaust. It's pretty loud but nice, best part is, I could feel the difference right after installing the pipe. On my E46 M3 when I went catless, I didn't feel anything but fumes

I'll try to take a little vid with my iPhone. Not how well it will work out. Anyone know of a good decibel reader for the phone or is there no such thing?

I believe it. I use to have Gintani Sport, not even the race, and my wife could hear me for about 45 secs after I left the house. I got rid of the exhaust because of the drone and the fact that all my non-car-guy friends thought it sounded like a Mustang.

Mines not too loud, but I hope it breaks the 85db rating!
