How good is Carly for BMW?
General OBD II doesn't seem to work very well for the E92, how good is the Carly app+wifi adapter for pinning down issues?

So far worked very well for me. From what I understand these guys made it scan deeper/wider finding errors that others don't manage. On top obviously the coding and engine parameter capability which I like.

Its the best OBD 2 WIFI reader on the market, wich also supports reading & clearing & coding ( battery registering/ DVD in motion/ brighter angle eyes/ parktronic F82 Nav model update for E92's ) along with some special unique features like the life log parameter reading, with direct mechanical- issue support from Carly head quarters, located in munich.

Weird that they did not take away the VAT although it's being shipped to the US...is that some new EU rule? I shopped at some UK sites before and they always take away the VAT portion.

I wish they turn off EDC error
My only real gripe is that this unit doesn't read generic codes from other vehicles. I hate to have specialized readers for every car I own... |

Is Euro mdm viable with Carly?
Edit: what I meant to say was....Is euro mdm something that carly can handle to code or is it just out the question. Last edited by mhuynh; 03-03-2016 at 12:49 AM.. |

Carly works great with my E90 m3 and their bt adapter. However, it couldnt code my E46 m3, for which i had to purchase a different carly cable. I was disappointed with their E46 m3 support.

I tried buying it from their site, but they refunded my money and said to buy it from a US retailer. |

Sure! Its located in the life log parameters in your Carly app! This shown oil level is your exact motor oil level, not like the ones in our cars that just indicates: empty middle full How to: Stick that Carly WIFI dongle into the OBD2 port of your ///M-beast, Switch in your Carly app to parameters click on any empty bar select the oil value reading Take your phone with you to your engine bay Then use the comon procedure known as: fill check fill found this helpful thread ( kudos to helmsman ) http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1185534 That's it, Happy filling everyone Last edited by vsix; 03-03-2016 at 12:18 PM.. |

Able to register battery is a good feature plus I coded to change the fuel tank warning capacity from 1/4 to 1/8 which was very annoying before!

Do you know if their Mercedes Wifi adapter will work for the E9x M3s? That's the only one available in their Amazon US store, and they won't ship to US for some reason.

It's OK for quick code reads or basic coding, but it's no substitute for anything advanced. Still, OK for those who are fine with what Carly can do and don't mind paying somebody for everything else.
P.S. and LOL re "head quarters, located in munich". Reminds me of this: Last edited by smyles; 03-03-2016 at 09:30 PM.. |

Update on Carly iphone WIFI adapters:
A buddy of mine ordered and got reply from Carly: Due to high demands, the BMW iphone WIFI adapters went out of stock! Will be available by the end of march. Since these adapters are special, they need a certain developing/ production time, wich needs to be considered. Interested car enthusiasts ( should still place an order over their ivini-tech.de site and sign into their "waiting list"! -who would've thought it creates such a run...on the other hand, its one of the best tools ever made, for our BMW's...so no wonder. |
