Auxiliary Heating Pump | Anyone else have this?
When replacing valve cover gaskets this weekend I noticed that I have an auxiliary water pump that is supposed to be used for auxiliary heating according to RealOEM.com (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=64_1611)
Well, mine is not connected and I cannot locate a floating connector either. My heat works just fine. Anyone else have this little pump installed but not wired in? |

Not sure if it helps you.
I checked mine and I also have this motor. Funny thing is that it is all over rusty. The only thing pretty much were I can find rust on my car Anyway, mine is hooked up. The wires come from the driver side underneath the wind shield. They go alongside the air intake box with other wires bundled up. I attached a photo from the plug. That's the best angle I can get without removing the air box. Does your car have start/stop ?? I could only think that this pump is used when the motor is off on a traffic light to keep the hot water flowing to the heat exchanger so the inside doesn't cool off? Rainer. |

Oh interesting! I don't have auto start/stop so maybe that's it. I'll hunt around this weekend to see if I can find a connector. Thanks again for the reply!
