our OT doesn't suck because we're not a bunch of whiny girls. we talk about real topics that "matter" and belong in any real OT forum. this guy said it best:

We have to remember we have about 7 different forums joined together as one. The moderation styles definitely had to change. It simply was not going to work. Its only fair that we had to adopt Bimmerpost's rules. There is more of them.

I recall a BS infraction I got back in November. It was from an ex-mod who shall remain nameless. It was b/c I told a troll to ''grow up" in the politics thread. No profanity or anything. Give me a break. You expect to aid the new forum like this? I dont think so. This is not church or a court room. We arent in the presence of small children. Anyhow, that was my only major beef. The majority of the mods werent like this...so I'm not grouping them here.

What I love about the merger is access to new people. "Car Talk" and "Off Topic" really stinked before. There was no action whatsover. I got tired of posting new threads. Most people didnt care about anything other than their 1. I wasnt telling anyone to buy anything. I just wanted their opinion or input half the time. I belong to a few forums and OffTopic/CarTalk is the rules are the most relaxed. Car Specific threads I can understand being different.

What took some getting use to was the Navigation. Everything seems so big and full. It is a bit hard to find posts from old 1 addicts members I was cool with.

In conclusion, its not a big deal. Life happens and things change. Adapt or die/move on. This place is a lot more entertaining than it was before. I am one that enjoys a good debate. I'm positive the admin/mods wont let many berate and troll to no end. I lurked 1addicts in Nov of 06 and finally joined in Feb of 07. I've watched it change almost as much as anybody. I started a 2addicts myspace club for crying out loud.

well put, I like his style. Majority of the regular OT posters on here are laid back and after a hard day of work, thats exactly what we need, NFSW, Humor and intelligent advice (although not always the case, *cough not pointing any fingers ). I always come on here when I'm stressed or just bored because I know theres always something in the OT section that will humor me. But I shit you not, our OT section has some qualified big brothers, there are many of whom I've received advice from, Tondtar being one of them . I like to think of Bimmerpost OT as..... Home

it's good fun but it's gotten pretty stupid in the past few months. the threads get derailed after two pages, and (i probably contributed a good deal to this) the swearing by certain users is too much. i'm all for fuck shit w/e, but people have been using it a bit too much. i took a decent break from OT and coming back to it i can see some serious issues.

I love everything besides one thing. to be honest theres too much "Nudity" allowed. I know im going to get flamed like no tommorow but NSFW doesnt just cut it. Threads that do not have those tags will have posts/pics that totally arn't safe for work, mabey not by the OP but by other posters themselves. many a times I've gone into a thread and seen pics etc that shouldn't be there. I think there should be a sort of tag where if it is NSFW then you put whatever it is in thetags. I bet the Mods can come up with a NSFW tag in the html code where one can click it in a certain users post and it will show whatever it is. For example

NSFW(a link). Click it and right below it opens up a picture or whatever that the poster posted.
