Thanks Kimo, the dealer said PCD was confirmed, but I'll confirm with him and BMWNA today. The 1-800 # said my car was scheduled for completion today when I called yesterday so I dont think it's likely we'll meet at Spartanburg, but it would be great if we could!!

Thanks again!

You can call BMWNA at 800-831-1117 with your Vehicle production number or VIN to confirm that the change to PCD has been made. If this hasn't been done yet, my guess is that you'll really be pushing it to get the POA (port of arrival) changed from NYC to Charleston if your car is already built and waiting at the port in Bremerhaven.

Check out this thread: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...enter+delivery

I've answered some of your questions there. Consider the Blue Ridge Parkway for the return trip, but be aware of road closures near Asheville. Check out: http://www.blueridgeparkway.org/ and http://www.nps.gov/blri/. You can order PR materials from the first site. The Biltmore mansion in Asheville is very cool.

Let us know if your PCD works out. Maybe we'll see you there. I'm still waiting on a date confirmation from the PCD.

Mike

Hi John I live in Eastern Mass too and wondering if you are also working with Foreign Motors West which is my dealer.

It also sounds like your existing lease is up, which will be the case with mine pretty soon and I will have to rent for a couple of weeks or pay for a months extension, so how did you convince your dealer to give you a loaner? Good job!!

Would have been better to have stuck to realistic expectations. However, the dealer will probably provide a loaner car tomorrow, so it's not all bad.

Not with FMW, it's Wagner at Shrewsbury. See my post at http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...0001#post20001

It's not a lease situation, I sold my C5, and rented a cheapy from Avis, but that's still money down the drain. They suggested a possible loaner last night based on more delays beyond what was originally communicated as a delivery date. If they had not been so continuously over-optimistic about delivery dates, I would not have sold the C5 so early, and the need for a loaner would not exist.

I think you can only expect a loaner if either they have a responsibility as above or you can negotiate it into the transaction.

Whatever you do, if you expose yourself to open-ended cost which depoends on delivery date, get an iron-clad commitment. Then if the schedule slips, you have a case for a loaner to limit your out of pocket expenses.

I found that "only 3 weeks" means "over 5 weeks" and "late June or maybe first week in July" actually means "first week in July if you are very, very lucky".

Got a call from my dealer this morning. When he came in this morning an Alpine White 330 was off-loading, and it is mine (well, my wife's ). Tomorrow is the earliest he can have it ready but I committed to a fishing trip so Monday is delivery day. BBS LMs first stop next week then off to tint on Friday.

Thanks John. My dealer has been very conservative in committing dates to me and very good so far, except it's impossible to get in touch with him at month end!

Anyway, my car was completed today . it's in stage 190, whatever that means, I guess it means that it's at or on its way to the port, waiting for a vessel!!!

BTW, funny thing, but i have not seen a single e90 over here, and i drive up and down 93 every day!

Deburn, how do you know what "stage" it is in? Also, mine has been sitting at the port awaiting a vessel for 5 days. Still no VIN recognition on the W&W site. I was hoping to hit the Falstaff to Chas. on Monday, but. . . . . .

Wildcat, that's what the guy at the 1-800 # told me when I called BMW today. I dont know what the "stage #" indicates but I put it out there knowing that other people would know.

5 days at the port sounds like a long time. He, the BMW rep at their call center, said it would be at the port for 4 days max. Hope your car gets on a boat soon

Still at the port today awaiting a vessel. Looks like I'll miss the Monday ship to Chas. There are 3 leaving the 14th-19th that arrive Aug. 2-3 in Chas. I gotta be on one of those three. So much for July delivery but hopefully looking at the Aug. 8-10 time frame for pickup (fingers crossed).

Incredible!!

Thanks Kimo; that's nice to know. I dont know how you (and others on this forum) get such detailed info but I've very grateful! Getting the invoice pricing and the MF enabled me to get a good deal!

I'm guess I'm now waiting for a 195 or 196!

SHIPPING TO CINCINNATI

My car was finished on 6/24 (525xi) and the BMW Store indicates they expect it at the dealership by the end of July. It appears it shipped around 7/5 based on the 800 #. However, I still can't track it based on the W&W site and per the Port of Charleston, there are only 2 non-W&W vehicle ships scheduled to arrive in the month of July. I'm a little worried so I contacted my CA to find out the ship name. I'm still waiting! I assume it is the Sapphire Ace for 7/20, the only other one is the Baltic Highway and that arrives on the 11th, too soon for my car to be on it. Unfortunately, I can't verify either ship ever stopped in Bremerhaven. BMW sales are up I think around 18% thanks to the new 3 series so my guess is things are running behind due to the volume.

dennis46c, I also am awaiting delivery at the bmw store in Cincy. Coincidentally, my bro in law just got back from ED on a 530xi over the 4th of July weekend and his is already on the Maersk Tide with delivery in NYC on 7/20. I'm still waiting at the port apparently.

Dealer called this morning. Wife's car will be ready for PCD at Spartanburg center on Aug. 11, so it must be coming in on one of the ships due in before the 11th. I assume your car will be with hers. Our VIN is still not tracking though.

Man, if you're getting your car on the 11th, then I'm screwed because your car was ready quite a while before mine. Mine was completed on 7/8 and was in transit over the weekend and today. I was expecting 1st week of Aug delivery

Anyway, congratulations...!!

Whoa! Mine was completed on July 1 and is still waiting on a shipping vessel at Bremerhaven for a ship to Chas. with no shipping info yet. I was hoping to get on the Falstaff on 7/12 but. . . . Otherwise, there are 3 ships arriving in Chas. on Aug. 2-3. Likely on one of those with Kimo. Not sure what the hold up here is lately.

Well, I'm confirmed through BMWNA and the dealer as my car having left on a ship on 7/9 with arrival around 7/23-25 in Charleston. The OC and the 800 computer lady FINALLY also confirm the car is en route. W&W doesn't recognize my VIN either. Soooooo, I'm assuming that I'm on a non-W&W ship. All sources say I'm on the water on some ship, so that is a very good thing indeed. . . . . Could take delivery around 7/30-8/1 according to dealer.

Thanks. It seems that cars coming into Chas. seem to be making it to the dealers quicker. There is a thread with JohnF also over at bimmerfest where some cars are sitting 10-15 days after arriving at NJ/NYC port. I'd assume yours is coming through NYC/NJ since you're in Mass, right? Any other thoughts from those who've taken del.?

At least some of the reason for my delays at NY/NJ is because of a scratched windshield. More details at http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2059
