Rod bearing service in Norcal?
Hey all,
Just bought my E92 M3 comp with 48k miles. Looking to have the rod bearing service done. I'm from the Bay Area, currently living in Chico. I'm on the search for a reputable shop to do my rod bearings and want to see what you guys have to say. I'm pretty open to anything Bay Area and north of it. I wanted it done at precision dynamics while I was down in Socal, but unfortunately, they are booked up for over a month. Thanks in advanced |

Another vote for VT Motorworks - Matt and Wing are hard to beat. They changed my bearings and mounts and it was a great experience. Really solid guys and enthusiasts through and through - highly recommend them.

If you’re willing to go to the Bay, Greg at Performance Dynamic. Hands down. Otherwise. HMB in sac would be the closer option. Congrats on picking up a 48k mile car.

Lots of votes for VT and Perf Dynamic so I'll add my experience with both:
Greg at performance dynamic is prob your cheapest option. And he will install whatever bearings you prefer. However, he gave my car back with my steering wheel 30 degrees off after saying no alignment necessary after RB job (100% not true). He reinstalled the steering rack incorrectly 1 notch off. Then he ghosted me after offering to pay for the alignment to "fix" the issue. So, as nice as he was to chat with before the work was done, I can't recommend him. But VT has been great for multiple jobs and their pricing is still competitive. |
