Dinan racing mid-pipe

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 1,234.00

Item Interest
Getting rid of my Dinan racing mid-pipe.

Wife and baby just can't deal with the catless smells anymore. She said my past life is catching up with me. I told her but I like to live my life a quarter mile at a time. She didn't like that answer.

In any case, someone take this beautifully awesome exhaust off my hands. Open to sale or trade for a mid-pipe with cats, including OEM as well.

Located in Irvine. Thanks for looking.

Pic from online for reference, not my actual system.

Interested. Is this for an E92 or E90?

How bad is the smell?

Subjective to say how strong it is so I cannot comment. But can definitely notice it.

For e92 not sure if it is different for e90.

I have owned the exact setup in the past, it was my first fully catless exhaust ever (on any car) and I must say the cold start is notorious but once you get going it's definitely livable. If you compare fully catless(apple) to fully catless(apple) its gonna be the same. I sold it because I had my eyes on the Akrapovic system and family member was also reason. It is definitely worth getting for the sound and quality though. BUMP

The smell of any fully catless exhaust will be the same and is very subjective to your sensitivity to smell.

I rarely notice the smell of my exhaust when I'm in the car with the doors and windows closed. Perhaps a bit at cold start, which can be turned off since you're catless if it's bad enough.

The only time I smell exhaust is with the windows down at a stop. Even then, it's not enough for me or my fiancee to be particularly bothered by. We are in our mid 20s though.

Personally, I enjoy the smell. Especially when I'm running full e85 and get the sweet kettle corn like smell from the exhaust. In addition to that any downsides of the smell to me is worth it for the performance increase and tastefully increased sound of being fully catless with a stage 2 tune on the full Dinan system.

GLWS - the Dinan x pipe is rare and hopefully you let it go for a price reflecting that rarity.

Understood, but these days HFC flow so well that there is really no reason to not have cats. The difference is basically 2hp on an NA car. You have less rasp and total sound volume is only a few db lower.
