MPE question

does anyone with the MPE (no other pipe mods) have a drone in the 3300-3800 RPM area under light acceleration? or is this just something i will have to get used to? the resonance does not sound like it is coming from the cans, it feels like it's before that.

i sent it back to the dealer to check and see if everything is installed properly. i wonder if this is actually drone or just a normal sound i will have to get used to (like the 3.62 diff whine which i have come to love)

None whatsoever at any RPM. Zero drone on MPE (13 e92).

Even in "luffing" mode? for me it's when i tap the gas in any gear between 3300-3800 rpm. resonance is tremendous. i think it was a lousy install

i readily admit that i have no idea if this sound is normal or not. but it gets inside my head like a bassdrum

Take it to the dealer. That's 100% not right.

Yeah, on mine modest higher pitched resonance at 3800-4000 rpm, a very specific narrow band and it's not really annoying to me (sounds pretty cool actually) but for those who are ultra-sensitive maybe its an issue. Had mine re-checked for leaks just to make sure a while back, but was all clear...that's the way it is.

Drone to me is that unpleasant low freq booming fart can buzz sound that can cause a headache...for some people, me included. I've got a touch of tinnitus so I'm hyper sensitive to it. There is nothing irritating at all with my MPE at any RPM under all loads. I can hear the exhaust, which is welcome, although nothing I'd call drone. Just a sweet sounding exhaust note.

Mine does. Initially at around 3,800 rpm only. Then, after the dealer fixed their initially-shitty install, now it's double-humped --> 3,400 rpm and 3,900 rpm. The low freq reverberation in the cabin is very annoying to me.

yes i'm in that band, i was wondering if i was going mad. and i fully ackowledge just how amazing the MPE sounds in all other RPMS, but it just feels like this is something i will have to get used to

i am getting the car back wed or thurs, will update this post if there are any changes.

2013 with MPE. Very slight subtle drone around 2000rpm and disappears quickly.

My MPE is pretty quiet until it reaches between 3900-4900rpm before it starts to sing.
