Diamond Fusion Windshield Protection Film on Spyder!

Long story short, we have tested a windshield protection film for a manufacturer from 5 years ago and there was just not enough durability for us at Premier to back it. Fast forward to 2010, we have been testing this new product by Prestige Films Technology who have developed a clear windshield protection film in late 2009. We have tested and used this product extensively and now are confident in its protective capabilities, but also its durability and clarity. One of our major concerns would be wiper scratches. To date, we have put over 15k miles onto our daily drivers and we do not see this as an issue. Below are some specs to the product:

Manufacturer: Prestige Films Technology
Product: Diamond Fusion Windshield Protection Film
Warranty: 2 year 20,000 miles from bubbling, fading, peeling, purpling, and cracking
Thickness: 4.2 mils
UV Rejection: 99.5%
VLT (visible light transmission) - 80% (factory glass is typically 82%-85%)
Heat Rejection: 10% TSER (total solar energy rejection - minimal heat rejection, but better than none)
**does not interfere with radar, am / fm, and other wireless signals

After extensive testing, we are confident in placing this product onto our customers vehicles. For those outside of our coverage area (norcal and socal), please direct your inquiries to Prestige for local installers - sales@prestige-films.com

Here are the photos!!!!

Just to answer a few FAQs:

Q: How do you clean it?
A: There is a special cleaner and sealer for it

Q: How long will it take before the water bubbles evaporate
A: 3-4 days

Q: Will my wipers scratch the film
A: Diamond Fusion has an extremely durable hardcoat that is scratch resistant

Q: Does it affect visibility
A: Diamond Fusion is a clear film with a VLT (visible light transmission) rating at 85%. Factory glass is rated at somewhere between 80%-85% depending on manufacturer
*this windshield protection film also reduces glare for improved nighttime visibility

I was thinking about doing this when I had my car clear wrapped. I think I may do this before my windshield gets cracked or chipped.

Here are some close ups of it from the inside. It is an optically clear product. We believe Prestige did a great job in creating a very good product that will protect our client vehicle windshields' over time.

As a point in reference, these photos below were taken here at approximately 6:30pm.

I see that all the pictures are car with 'probably' perfect condition windshield. Have you put the film on a windshield with minor cracks/chips? If not, would it still work? Or is that a bad idea?

So you also have some cleaning productions for it, but any issue if one uses the windshield fluid from the car to clean w/ wiper while driving? What about bird shit, does it do anything to the film?

With larger rock chips, there may be an air pocket that will form surrounding it if you apply Diamond Fusion to it. As for windshield wipers, this product has a substantially harder topcoat than any other product we have seen. Bird dropping and bug gut etching, we have not seen on our company vehicles, but knowing how acidic bird droppings are, we do recommend not to leave on the film to bake. As for wiper fluids, we have had this product installed onto our own vehicles for the past 2 years and no issues yet.

There seems to be some confusion with Diamond Fusion and paint protection films on the market. Diamond Fusion is a clear window film with high optical clarity that is designed specifically for the front windshield. Paint protection film, is exactly what it's name turns out to be...it is designed for paint and not windows. Paint protection film (aka clear bra) does not have the optical clarity required to be placed onto the windshield.

For those outside of our Norcal and Socal facility areas, please contact Prestige regarding their product. sales@prestige-films.com

And now photos of a piece of windshield that is half covered with Diamond Fusion to illustrate the optical clarity of this product by Prestige Film Technologies
