I always carried a spare battery for my blackberry because I would always go through the first one. Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury with the iPhone.
There are cases with built in batteries

I use them when I go abroad

I let mine die twice and charge to 100%

Overall, I'm not dissatisfied with the battery, but it's pretty much the same as it was on my 4

did that yesterday, battery life seemed much improved after letting the battery going thru one complete cycle then recharging to 100%...

on a side note: I miss having my emails and messages pushed to my iDrive. That notification icon on my idrive for messages was quite convenient when my BB was paired....hoping apple/bmw integrate the same feature eventually...

Since this is my first iPhone, I'm gonna use it for a while and see how it goes.

Maybe it's normal and I'm just using it a lot. I feel like my usage is normal, maybe a little higher so we'll see.

I pulled it off the charger this morning and it was at 96%. I'm guessing it stops charging once it reaches 100%. That would be a nice feature so it doesn't kill the battery life.

I'm gonna let it go through another cycle tonight. I won't hurt.

My E60 has the old school iDrive so I never had that feature. The new iDrive is badass.

I'm getting used to the battery life as well..figure as long as I get a day I'm good...I'm comparing the battery life to my BB...so don't think it's a fair comparison...

Yep. Wait, aren't you a mod over there? I remember seeing a name similar to yours. I hardly ever go on anymore. Same with this site. I only come to OT for a few lols and then I get back to studying.

I didn't get a full day out of mine yesterday. It died at around 9:30 ish. 10:30 am to 9:30 pm = 11 hours.

It's not a fair comparison. I do so much more on my iPhone than I did on my Bold. For example, I can do a simple google search on the iPhone without haven't to wait 3 minutes for results. If I needed to google something quick at school, I always pulled out my laptop when I had my Bold. Plus, I use my iPhone as my iPod. I streamed about 20 minutes of a movie off of Crackle. I took about 10 photos. Used FB, Twitter and Instagram. Now that I think of it, I did so much on my phone that I'm surprised that it lasted 11 hours. Not bad, not bad.

yup, I'm a mod over there...

agreed it's not a fair comparison....

here's a few tips on how to help conserve/extend your battery life:

I have 3 email acc's set up, all to push...I figure if I set it to fetch it would laast longer, but like I said...1 day is good for me...

Well your battery life seems to last longer than me lol

But I am an excessive user so I can't complain

Shouldn't you be concentrating on driving?

Yeah setting to fetch improves battery life

I do that when I'm running low and won't be able to charge for a while

I haven't used my phone much today and I'm at 79%. Yesterday at this time it was at like 50% lol. I guess you could say I'm an excessive user as well lol.

Does anyone know if this site is legit? www.iphonebuybacks.com

I really want to sell my iPhone 3g with 8 gigabytes of storage, but I don't really want to go through with the hassle of putting it up on ebay. According to the site, I would be able to receive about 90 for my working iPhone which I think is pretty reasonable. Just wondering if anyone out there has any input regarding this site.

wow.
They appraised $300 for my iPhone 4 16.
I could upgrade to a 4S and pocket $100.

got my iphone 4s yesterday and haven't put it down since!

just wanted to ask... I ended up taking it out the box and it being 75% and being unimpatient began to immediately use it. i ended up plugging it into my computer and used it on and off while it was sitting and charging. was this a bad idea? I ended up using it on and off while initially charging for about an hour. then i plugged it up to the wall and let it completely charge for the night...

my main concern is longterm battery life. i've heard different things about how to approach using the phone immediately out of the box. some say fully charge then use, others say use fully then re-charge first. it seems too late for me right now but is there any truth to any of these statements?

i already know now after my last phone to not use it continuously while charging becuz that's what killed my last battery

I'm talking about people who actually buy them and use it for themselves. I don't know why people would spend another $250 to "upgrade" to something that is pretty much the same damn phone. Oh, it has a better camera and some organizer thing. Is that really worth $250? This is almost as sad as the white iPhone 4... how people waited in line for hours and jerked off to the Best Buy catalog so they can get the same damn phone in a different color. I don't get this shit. Buy a phone you like and replace it when it starts to crap out or something truly revolutionary comes out. A couple software updates on the same phone isn't revolutionary.

I would just wait for the iPhone 5 to come out.
Color preference? How many people have traded a car in for the same model, just 2 or 3 years newer in a different color?

I picked up mine last Friday at 2:30 in the afternoon. Picked up a 4S 16GB black. Got the last 16 available. It replaces my 3GS which was a nice phone. Siri is handy, but I love the resolution on the screen, and the camera is MUCH improved. Still figuring out all this iCloud stuff, and I think it'll come in handy.

Watch out with some of these sites... a lot of them are a scam. They'll appraise it and then they'll receive it and tell u it's not in the condition u promised and will re offer u much less. Then you will go through a hassle to get your phone back; Gazelle.com as far as I am concerned is the only legit one but they don't exactly offer top dollar.

One of these Iphone buyback places offered me $200 for an Iphone 3GS, I knew it was a scam...

Very true. Same thing happened to me. They told me that they couldn't give me any money because of this and that, after offering me like $100 at the beginning (but they could recycle it for me for free yippee!!). I demanded my phone be returned out of principle and it took a while for them to send it back.

I believe this was through cashforiphones.com or something like that. Scam sites.

Just got mine in the mail today, had it pre-ordered since 11:30am on the 7th.

My last iPhone was the old 3G, and between then and now I've been running a Blackberry, so this is a huge step up in hardware. You guys are right though, the battery sucks on this thing. I also noticed that bluetooth was turned on by default, and that drains the battery a lot too.

Now I need a good case, because Im not sure if Im liking this one I got today from Best Buy.
