Maybe, just maybe it could be made in Taiwan.

All parts made in Germany - lower part is OEM BMW!

Most carbon fiber products come from China, CF is very cheap to produce. It looks nice but overtime it cracks and the resin turns yellow.

Hence why we do not sell much Carbon Fiber products, we sell only the highest of quality painted products made in Taiwan, not China.
And our CF products are made in Taiwan, we only sell the highest of quality products. We guarantee that our CF will not turn yellow.

Here is the one I was talking about. http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=2190, Although, this one is the original one covered in dry carbon; therefore, it does not increase the volumea and no HP increase. The one on this thread, is it the same one in the KKS thread, post#19?http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139018 ???

Seems there is some confusion over the carbon cover and the carbon plenus with increased volume.

I'm skeptical of 10% more volume giving an increase. No dyno showed, seems like it is just engine bay eye candy. The factory one covered in carbon obviously is.

According to bmwfans, the stock airbox weighs ~11lbs, so there is probably 6-7 lbs to be saved there with a quality CF part, but the OEM one covered with carbon is a joke.

http://bmwfans.info/original/E92/Cou...1/ill-11_4129/

I'll call Bimmerworld to see if they have any weight specs on the CF top they are selling for $2700.

http://store.bimmerworld.com/shared/...t=products.asp

These guys claim they are saving ~8lbs with the true CF version:

http://www.ca-automotive.co.uk/produ...faWQ9OA==.html

If that is the same part as Bimmerworld is selling, you are talking about ~$340/lb. Not cheap, but I guess the real attraction is the sound.

Yes, with the exchange rate and all, they cost about 7K a set for the EuroCross 7Model.
