Mirror folding issue

The exterior mirrors on my car always fold all the way out past the normal seating position. If I press the button to fold them in they will but once I start driving they fold all the way out. I tried to reset them but no luck, maybe I’m just doing it wrong. Anyone else have this issue? I searched all over the web, YouTube but still no luck. Are my mirrors in need of replacing ? Appreciate any input!

Sounds like the internal gears are out of alignment. Also, you cannot drive the car with the mirrors folded, they automatically unfold when you reach a certain speed.

I adjusted my mirrors when I first got my car. If I remember correctly the sequence is:

Push mirrors all the way towards the front of the car (past where they should rightfully sit)
Hit the fold button, they should fold in and make a pop noise.
Push button again and they should fold out to correct position.

If that doesn't work, then they may be defective.

Yea we I start driving they will just fold out automatically but all the way forward. I've done that countless of times and still nothing. They just fold out all the way towards the car. My only option is to just cut the white wire for now until I find a used pair on eBay.
I wonder if there's a way to repair the gears on the inside or am I just shit of out luck. thanks so much for your help..

search the internet, there are various fixes out there.

the ultimate fix is new mirrors.

ive been doing nothing but searching. I've tried all those solutions and still nothing. Looks like I will have to replace em if I want them to be fully functional.
