2009 E90 M3 Lemans Blue 6MT 42K Miles

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
Putting my 2009 E90 M3 up for sale to give someone else the opportunity to enjoy the car. I purchased the car in April 2019 from the original owner in IL and had it shipped enclosed to CA through Intercity Lines. Since that time I’ve put roughly 4k miles on it all while taking care of a bunch of maintenance items, doing some modifications, and refurbishing a few things.

VIN: WBSPM93509E201520

Mileage: 42,2XX (might go up by a couple hundred miles at most depending on how long it’s listed)

Location: 1 hour north of SF (Bay Area). CA registration is current through April 2024. I'm happy to work with potential buyers on shipping.

Factory Options:
  • Le Mans Blue Metallic (1 of 54 manual E90 M3s ever produced in this color)
  • Black Novillo Leather
  • Technology Package (navigation, comfort access, EDC, M drive, Bluetooth, individual audio, etc.)
  • Premium Package (carbon leather trim, power mirrors)
  • Cold Weather Package (folding rear seats, heated front seats, headlight washers)
  • Sunroof
  • 19” 220M Wheels (replaced with OEM 359M wheels)

Maintenance (under my ownership with all invoices/receipts in a binder):
  • 38K (April 2019): Rod bearings replaced (BE/ARP bolts) along with an OEM oil pan gasket, oil + filter change, and motor mounts. Performed by Performance Eurowerks in IL.
  • 38K (April 2019): Alignment and new Michelin PS4S in 245/265 sizes mounted & balanced.
  • 38K (May 2019): NGK LKR8AP (8) spark plugs replaced.
  • 38K (July 2019): Rubber exhaust mounts replaced.
  • 38K (July 2019): New OEM chrome fender grilles and M3 trunk emblem (previous owner had swapped them to black but I preferred stock).
  • 39K (August 2019): Power steering fluid flush (CHF 11S) including a new OEM reservoir.
  • 39K (August 2019): Coolant flush (50/50 distilled water and BMW Antifreeze) with new tank screws.
  • 39K (August 2019): Differential fluid flush (BMW SAF-XJ + FM Booster).
  • 39K (August 2019): Transmission fluid flushed including new filter (BMW MTF-LT2).
  • 39K (August 2019): Oil + filter change (Castrol 10W-60) – 650 miles after RB change. Blackstone report available.
  • 39K (August 2019): Brakes bled (Castrol SRF).
  • 39K (May 2020): New front bumper felt panels (all three pieces are still like new today).
  • 40K (August 2020): Oil + filter change (Castrol 10W-60). Blackstone report available.
  • 40K (September 2020): Alignment following the ZCP suspension retrofit.
  • 40K (September 2020): New Bosch O2 Sensors (pre- and post-cat).
  • 40K (December 2020): New OEM BMW Engine Air Filter
  • 40K (March 2021): New OEM BMW Thermostat and coolant temperature sensor.
  • 40K (March 2021): New OE IAT sensor.
  • 40K (March 2021): New Bosch fuel injectors.
  • 40K (June 2021): New OEM differential pinion seal.
  • 40K (June 2021): New OEM idle control device + hose
  • 40K (June 2021): New Bosch fuel tank breather valve
  • 40K (September 2021): Oil + filter change (Castrol 10W-60). Blackstone report available.
  • 40K (September 2021): Brakes bled (Castrol SRF).
  • 41K (September 2022): Oil + filter change (Castrol 10W-60). Blackstone report available.
  • 41K (February 2023): All 8 rubber intake boots and clamps replaced.
  • 41K (June 2023): Exhaust donut gaskets and key fob battery replaced.
  • 41K (August 2023): Rear lower windshield seal replaced.
  • 41K (September 2023): Oil + Filter change (BMW 10W-60). Blackstone Report available.
  • 41K (September 2023): Brakes bled (Castrol SRF).

The TAs are still original but have shown no signs of imminent failure.

Modifications:
  • Brembo GT BBK 365/345 – silver calipers with red lettering (original Brembo pads/rotors still show plenty of life)
  • OEM BMW 359M wheels
  • OEM ZCP struts (from an E92 with 29K miles). These were installed at 40K miles and supplemented with shaved front top mounts, Dinan springs, and the Dinan rear upper shock mount kit. I did the OEM ZCP EDC coding including the update to the VO. Combined with the 359M wheels this car is essentially a ZCP car without the option on the window sticker.
  • Rogue Octane Short Shift Kit
  • F10 M5 Shift Knob
  • iND painted bumper reflectors
  • Hardwired for a radar detector including a Blendmount for Valentine One

Other:
  • Clean Carfax. No accidents, zero stories. Title in hand.
  • Paint is 100% original. The front bumper is unfortunately drilled for a front plate (OE plate bracket included) and has deep scratches on the underside. I eventually wanted to have it repainted and the reflectors filled in, but I didn’t come across a shop I felt good about doing the work.
  • Original front windshield has quite a bit of pitting and you may want to replace it eventually.
  • Headlights have had PPF applied since new (replaced with new XPEL PPF in 2020).
  • Still smells fresh inside - non-smoking car. Leather has been cleaned/conditioned on a regular basis.
  • Paint corrected and ceramic coated (Gtechniq Exo V4 + CSL) in May 2022. Always hand washed and garaged.
  • Alpine MSS cable (currently running OEM 241E) gives the option for Stage 1+ upgrades.
  • Navigation is updated with 2021 North America maps.
  • Positive battery cable recall has not yet been done.
  • 3rd Party PPI completed on 1/23/20 when I last considered selling the car. They told me that the new battery (replaced by the PO a few years ago) had not been registered. I registered the battery myself as soon as I got home. The car was otherwise given a clean bill of health (copy in binder). I keep the car on a CTEK tender.

Detailed photos from a couple hundred miles ago are located here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...Bt?usp=sharing

Note that the Eventuri plenum, aftermarket cowl filters, and Corsa/Akrapovic exhaust shown in the pictures are not included with the sale. The OEM x-pipe, muffler, and plenum/intake are all in mint condition and will be reinstalled this week.

For interested parties, I do want to mention a few additional things:

The original brakes, suspension, shift mechanism, and wheels are not available. I do have a complete set of OEM brakes sitting in a box, but I recall the rotors and pads are fairly worn. I figured I'd give any potential buyers the opportunity to have them with the car if they wish just as a backup. I have no intention of parting out the Brembo BBK.

Under my ownership, the car was never driven in the rain. Not once. The windshield wipers may need to be replaced if you intend to drive it in the rain.

Lastly, I really enjoyed owning this car. I lucked into the purchase after randomly looking at the M3post classifieds while on a rally with one of my best friends. He convinced me to buy it, and a few weeks later it was in my driveway. I've spared no expense on the car since then, and the car is only driven a few times per month purely for enjoyment. Outside of the rod bearings and alignments, all maintenance work has been done by me. M3post (and secondarily TIS) has been a great resource for DIY guides, and if there is any question about the maintenance listed there is a good chance I still have pictures on my phone documenting the process in addition to all of the receipts. I certainly do for the bigger items such as the suspension, fuel injectors, and pinion seal.

If you have any questions, requests for videos, etc. please don't hesitate to ask.

Eventuri plenum

I'm interested in the eventuri plenum. I live in Socal. How much will you part that out for?

I appreciate the interest, but I do not intend to part out the brakes. They are very OEM+ and I'm hoping the new owner will appreciate them as such.

You had the best sounding exhaust setup with the ESS X-pipe, I wish I had bought it but i went back to OEM due to smog and noise complaints from my neighbors

Thanks, I appreciate it! I did really like that setup. Cycling through various exhaust setups is one of the ways I enjoyed this platform. Hard to make the S65 sound bad. I was actually blown away how quiet the car is now with the full OEM exhaust on it. It's been so long since it was like that
