Auto-X and Wet T-shirt contest...Aug 19 in Killeen
Its in Killeen so phrases like high class, pomp and circumstance, and maturity should be popping into your head.
There is an auto-X in Harker Heights on Aug 19, figured I would share. This is just starting out so there are still some kinks that need to be worked out. No work requirement, yay! I really don't like that...I pay money to do work? So you just roast in your car between runs. Or you can go hang out in the bar. http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/...4155145276593/

The first event was pretty good. Hope to see more Bimmers out there. A BMW won the RWD class last time!

Did OK but didn't win. Not really sure how close it was. I kept getting passenger requests on my timed runs which actually made a pretty significant difference. The first run was nice and quick with no passengers. Then the last two I was understeering like crazy. Most embarassing, I had a 4 wheel off in Auto-X.
So I'm defeated...but the M3 is still undefeated. So I'm still half undefeated. When I round up, I'm undefeated! Thank god for that rounding class in 4th grade. I'd be thinking that I really suck right now.

Timing using a stop watch?? Not exactly precise. Also really tall cones, not something you want to sit as that could do some damage. Pedestrians also look to be really close to the course. I'm guessing the "autox" was an afterthought to the other activities.
So where are the pics of the other activities

lol...they are just getting started here in Killeen. Its a big step up from car shows and street racing. The first event was timed with a cell phone.
I've voiced my concerns with the venue being too small. There is a pretty big crowd...its like the street race scenes from the Fast and the Furious. I did not stay for the wet t-shirt contest. It is awesome not having to drive 2 hours to get some fun driving in though. Unfortunately, my 330 is not setup for auto-X and its too much work to change it. It just understeers like crazy. Then my M3's p/s steering system really can't handle that course...it started to quit and my p/s fluid was all white and foamy. I would imagine that is not good for the bearing.

Its one of those things where there are lots of good things...but you also have to take the bad things as well. Looking around that lot and seeing some of the females with white t-shirts on??? I wasn't sure if I was prepared to see that.
Plus, I had an ice hockey game that night. Luckily I'm married so I can a one-on-one shower show.
