ACM | Elements of traditional ways: Velocity stackin' E90!
Sam, one of our mechanics here at the shop, linked up with David at 2M Autowerks in California for their velocity stacks on his E90. The two worked together to get the stacks dialed in for the S65 and the rest Sam drew up himself. He did not want to have any irreversible modifications to make it work and he also wanted to do so in a way that mimicked the factory plenum in order to keep the car happy. Oil air separators, oil catch and IAT, were all focused on during the design. He is having ducting 3D printed for the two intake points in the kidneys and bumper with filters to channel the filtered air in. Of course they're open itb's, so debris and heat soak is a reality, but for a fun weekend/show car he wanted to do something different and make some glorious sounds.
I needed to shoot the car in a way that popped as much as it does in person, so during a closed Saturday I killed the lights in the shop and did some light painting with it. I wrote up the feature over at ultimate klasse's website if you want more to read, but for now I hope you enjoy the photos and the car! |

I know he's trying to be responsible, but I think this is just screaming for a McLaren can am style mesh half-tennis ball. Nice open mesh, just to keep the larger birds and rocks out. Ducting is never going to look as nice as this. They even make some slip-on mesh screens for the bike guys that he could take off for shows
