Would it be alright to replace the rears alone while leaving the stock PS2s in place? Would going to a 275/35/19 rear be too off of the stock 245 fronts?

That would be okay, but not ideal. Just remember handling may be a little diffferent at the limit with mixed tires at each end.

That is what I figuered. What do most of you guys do coming off the stock PS2s? Do you guys get a whole new set, throwing away decent fronts because the rears are gone?

I bought some used rears to get me by so they were at about the same wear when I changes.

I just bought 2x 245-35-19 for the front and 2x 275-35-19 for the rear. I still have decent front ones but I prefer to change the all set (I don't want to mix PS2 and Vred's anyway). Good quote from GroupA Wheels, 850$ with shipping directly to my BMW dealer. They'll install them at the same time they do my 15K service.

Since Vreds do not have a 265/35/19, is the optimum replacement set for OEM 19s 255/35 front and 275/35 rear or do you stick with 245/35 for the front?

it has been discussed in this thread and both solutions have been installed by other members and both are ok. Some would say to go one step up in the front, others would say to keep the OEM size. No big difference at the end.

Yep, you got the upsizing right.

255/35/19 front

275/35/19 rear

Technically, you can go with either the 245/35 or the 255/35 up front...it's your choice.

If you're lowered enough, you might get a little rubbing at full lock with the 255/35/19 in front, but I don't think it's a big deal and can be fixed with a little fender liner adjustment. I don't rub with Eibachs, but a couple of guys have reported rubbing with H&R springs.

I rubbed with 255/35R19 with ET12 on full lock but 245/35R19 was ok.

You'll probably have to wait another couple of months for decent reviews from the U.S. Winter temps in the majority of the country right now aren't conducive to exploring the limits, and most of us who went with Vreds just mounted them as part of the RAC wheel group buy.

However, I've been using them "conservatively" for several weeks now, and they seem to be the equal of PS2s in the current conditions. I like them better than PS2s in the rain.

Sure do, but not all sizes. I wanted 245/18/40 and 265/18/40 to match stock but had to go 255/18/35 and 275/18/35 as that was closest to stock they had.

Approx $700 for the set.

Anyone knows the weight of the 245/35/19 & 275/35/19?

Also, given that the overall diameter increases for the rear tyres as compared to OEM (265->275) this means less torque to the wheels... How bad is it? There will also be some speedo discrepancy.

It should actually make the speedometer more accurate, lol. Stock it's too high.

LeMans Blue posted it somewhere - They're average; a little more than PS2s.

The difference is negligible as far as torque; as smmmurf says, it will help the current speedo error very slightly.

So let me ask you guys: do you feel as if you have greater grip with PS2s when they are significantly worn? *>80% ?
