"Like new" '08 E90 Jerez Black came home today!
Finally got the car home! Thank God I didn't have to wait for it to be built like some of you. I would have needed a knee replacement from all the shaky-leg I would have had during the months of waiting. It's Jerez, black leather and aluminum trim, premium and cold weather. No EDC, that's the only thing I would have done differently, but the base suspension is pretty damn good. And obviously leftover '08's are going for silly money.

I'm responsible for 75 miles out of 356. I'm still in shock. Maybe my wife shot me and I haven't noticed yet.

I would imagine a pretty big discount on that car!

It was never titled, so I guess that makes me the first owner.
The stealer also has an '08 AW/black 6-speed with 3,000 miles and tech package but they're asking a lot more for it and it smells smoky inside. This one still had all the interior plastic protector bits on everything. I'll get some good (well, as good as I can do with a cheap point-and-shoot anyway) photos once I get a chance to do a decent detail on the exterior. It's in need of a full-body clay, polish, and wax from 18 months of sitting outside. I'm not going to try to fully correct the paint because it's a daily and I don't want to start wearing out the paint already, but it does need to be protected as it has probably never been waxed. Already took most of a layer of oxidation off the shadowline trim with some M105 and elbow grease last night. Got 4.5 hours of sleep. Driving to work this morning was unreal.

Detail it! Do a full paint correction. Then install a clear bra. That JzB will look spectacular if you do this, and pretty much like $hit if you don't. Just do it. And congratulations on finding such a deal.
Cheers.

21 mpg?! I can't get over 17.9 no matter how much highway driving I do! Congrats on the purchase...that is such low mileage you really did get almost an essentially brand new car

It's possible to get 20+ on these cars, I'm doing it right now. First tank looks like it's going to average right at 21, my commute is about 75% highway at 65-70mph and 25% city at 20-30mph. If it's anything like my wife's 335xi, the average on the OBC is pretty close to reality. Her car is always +- 0.2mpg.
There is a lot of gas pedal travel left at 70mph in 6th gear. All of my BMW's have averaged better than their highway average with me driving. Unless I'm enjoying myself, I'm never over 3k rpm and often shift at 2200 or less once I get out of 2nd. Wider throttle openings at lower rpms are more efficient at producing the same power as a smaller throttle opening at higher rpm. Volumetric efficiency is better when you're not restricting flow as much. After 1,200 miles, I don't expect to average any better than 18 either.

When I cruise my missile at 65mph I average about 24-26mpgs, I think cuz of the mods and of course the better flow of in and out. I'm happy with it, but when I full throttle her yeah it'll get way worse...but the fact that it is a V8. I don't worry about it, I just won't DD it every day.
