Idler Pulley Replacement - Tip

I mentioned this in the other post, however if you don't read until the end of the post, you may miss it. Hopefully it helps someone....

The idler pulley near the water pump with either the offset or centered hole (depending on build date), that is rather inexpensive at $25-$30. However, the two tensioner pulleys are hella expensive because they don't sell the pulley separately ($160 & $185). I did manage to pull those two apart afterwards. Each tensioner uses the same pulley.

Measured Pulley Dimensions -

1. OD - 70mm
2. ID - 16.95mm
3. Width - 26mm

Dayco has two pulleys listed -

Pulley #89144 -
OD - 70mm
ID - 17mm
Width - 25mm

&

Pulley #89133
OD - 70mm
ID - 17mm
Width - 24.5mm

Both said they can be used for 6 rib belts. They list for ~$25 on Amazon. This may be a cheap alternative than replacing the entire assembly which isn't needed.

I don't offhand. Recommend just snuggling them up. You break one of those bolts and it will surely ruin your weekend.

Yeah I am already getting frustrated. I got everything put together and there is a HORRIBLE vibration that I can feel through the entire car when the car is idling and running. No idea what the hell is going on.

Snuggling? Aye too early. Try snugging rather.

Anyway, way the vibration there before? Take the belt off and run the car. Vibration still there?

I had this same issue, did my motor mounts but nope...still there. It ended up being a crack in one of the cooling fins on my fan. $900 fix but my vibration is gone.

Tried that...but the problem is it feels all normal until I drive about 30 feet and then it starts vibrating the entire car. I might think it may be the 10mm socket i dropped somewhere in the engine bay...lol I need to take off all of the engine underbody stuff to check to see if its wedged in somewhere somehow...

You know what I forgot to do? Clear the DME code for the Fan...it might be turning on super fast...
