Gonna write a book . . .
Late today I get one more call. "The service engine light has gone off. We want to keep it overnight and drive it one more time in the morning, but we think we're through the woods." Sounds more like a call from the hospital eh?
Day 6 it is then. Seems I have little choice. Seems I should have little reason for confidence either. Stay tuned viewers. |

The Bookend
So having started off this little story, seems only fitting that I should end it.
After the overnight stay in the dealer hospital for observation, the service engine light remained off and my car was returned to me. No one can tell me why and no additional steps were taken to fix it - the light just went off and has not reappeared. There were no charges for the second visit and I've been made whole on the brake fluid that didn't need to be changed. I ended up speaking with the overall service manager (the BMW service manager's boss) and they well understand I had a very negative experience. I put about 500 miles on the car over the weekend without issue. So, fingers crossed, I am off to the track this weekend and hoping all of this is behind me. |
