Well there are a few things coming that may force me to sell the car anyway, unless i drive or ship it from western to eastern Canada. Also, cars are cheaper in Toronto. Overall my car runs and drives fine, but i've been thinking that in a year or two i'll have to do the clutch, the diff will be tired, wheel bearings may need a looking etc etc, who knows, i might just end up doing a cross country road trip, hehe.

Yes, it will need more and more work as the miles and years grow. DIYers can maintain and repair these cars for just parts costs. If you are paying a shop you may wish you had put the money towards a newer car. I’ll be driving my 08M3 with 94k miles for a few more years. Had it for 8 years so far and not paid a shop to work on it — did the rod bearings myself in 2014.

I also considered selling my car, and then I remembered how long it took me to find my zcp sedan without navigation.
Yup... I'm keeping this car forever. |

You: *I bought a 2011.75 M3 because it's so much better than the older cars.* Everyone else: *You could have saved 5k (minimum) on an '08 and had the exact same driving experience.* |

I've never found girls to be remotely interested in my M3 or 911. They do attract guys sometimes, but if it's girls you're looking for, get a Miata.

While the 2011.5 and 2011.75 are very similar, there are differences. Also, really you all, to women unaware of the different model line ups of BMWs all they see is an older BMW. This is very common-place (my current wife, previous girlfriends, etc..) To most young women, a brand new 330i is more impressive than our 5 to 10 year old M3s. Women NEVER stop to make comments about my m3 (and i dont expect them to) but I have been stopped by dudes at gas stations and then the whole m3 conversation follows, but never with women (which is fine since I'm now married). At this point in its life cycle, the e9x m3 is just another old BMW to the non enthusiast masses. I did not buy my m3 to impress women, I rely on myself for that. I bought the m3 for me to impress myself and enjoy doing so. I would keep your 08 if I was you. While I personally was not aware that it was better built than the later models, especially since every 08 will need a different clutch and they came with the disintegrating copper bearings, Its paid off, has been reliable for you, you've got the rod bearings, you know the car well. Unless you are looking for specific features that your car just does not have or that you cannot retrofit, I see almost no point in switching for another e92m, especially if yours still drives well.
