Engine light
Hi All,
I started up the M3 yesterday to come home from work and the engine light (please see pic) stayed on. I turned the car off and back on again and the same thing. Car didn't run rough or misfire on the drive home which is on 5kms away. Let the car sit for an hour and started it again with the same result. I rang the mechanic and booked it in for next Tuesday. My question is - Could a low battery charge cause this? I have had the 'increase battery discharge' warning for the last month or so, which is probably a result of short runs to work. I just haven't got around to changing the battery. Thanks in advance |

I have previously tried to charge the battery and the 'increase battery discharge' still shows when starting the car, but I will try again over the weekend. I'm going to get a new battery next Tuesday regardless.

I would say if you have tried to previously and it still showed an issue after then your battery has likely had enough. Battery issues with modern cars can present as just about anything, so thats a definite starting point.
