Just try and take small bites...don't want to take a leap because who knows what will happen. As you get faster, you will likely start missing the apex because the car travels further before it responds and turns in. So that means you need to start turning in a little earlier. That means you HAVE to be on the gas to get the car rotated...then you're hauling ASS and turning with throttle! But there is a limit to that.

Sometimes is better to have a longer braking zone with less pressure vs a shorter one with more pressure. Generally this applies to fast sweepers or whenever you just want to brush the brakes lightly. It puts some grip on the front and makes the turn in more responsive (less input).

another day at the ridge yesterday. posted fastest lap to date again in my last session. out lap viper runs off after i let him pass. fastest lap starts around 8:15 and then 2 laps later i have an even better lap going but run into the viper again coming off the track and slows me down. Have my own cts-v moment in another session yesterday as well. guy drops 2 wheels because being pushed by me and a super fast sti then proceeds to still drag race him down the front straight after showering us with parts. his brake duct comes apart all over the track. then couple corners later his fog light lets go breaking my front spliter and goes under my front left tire. wont let me buy still and another lap later being pushed he runs wide and drops one tire again.

I would have gone into the pits after the lap and report the guy to the stewards. That way, you won't be right behind him and he might get pulled into to the pits to have a talking to.

I did and nothing was said. If I have issue with him again I'm gonna show my nose on the inside and help him out wide.

Yes last few have been open lapping due to low turnout. This one had 2 groups. Slow and fast. Some dorks should have been in the slow group.

Will be a good event. Probably busier than normal track day I would guess due to the charity nature of it. There will be auctions during the day of various parts and services from vendors also.

They fall into the same demographic as the typical vette owner only older and slower.

i was gonna say, if the dude knows he has cancer, shouldn't he willingly put himself intentionally in a lower group? Sorry guys I'm dead sick today and I can barely walk or see but I'll be running in the open race group. Open wheelers look out!

In fact, I just witnessed the 7th M54B30 (4 of them ZHPs) that have lost an oil pump nut at the track aka...destroyed engine...today.

While the M3 is about 30-40 lbs heavier stock I doubt that anyone will know the difference.
a moot point, as the 330i ZHP with an automatic transmission is much more responsive and agile car.
