AVIN Android 7.1 MM Nav System
I bought this unit for my 2013 M3, found a local installer, and the installation is underway. I'll post my feedback when I have some opinions. First, however, I have a couple of questions for you early-adopters:
How do you get into setup mode? My unit apparently starts up in German, which I understand but my installer does not. Is there any paper documentation anywhere? My unit came with nothing whatsoever. What's the SD card for? Does it contain the manual? How do I get android applications loaded on the unit? Sorry, but I'm a Mac at home / Windows at work kind of guy. Any and all help is appreciated. I look forward to giving you folks some feedback. Thanks. Steve |

Isn't AVIN providing any tech support to you? They should know their product best.
As for loading apps, you should have an icon called Play Store. That's like App Store on your iPhone, that's where you get the apps. You'll need to have a Google login first though. |

Thanks Redd. I tried to call AVIN but apparently the number listed on the website is no good. My installer sent them an email, but he’s sitting there not finishing my car until they respond.

Found this video for Android 7.1 for iDrive. Yours should be identical.
https://youtu.be/xUw0IL83yxU The '1314' factory passcode seems to be universal for these things. My Android 4.4 unit bought from AliExpress also has the same passcode. |

Anyway, these devices are designed to do very specific functions. Most Android features may not be relevant. |
