Installed GTS style front lip on my MR e93
...from JL motoring. Used tons of 3m tape, 5 factory bolts, 6 self-tapping screws. Overall, very happy with fit. Ventureshield film applied by Raja who also helped me install this past weekend (Thanks!!). Awful pics but you get the idea...will post better pics soon after get new wheels.

Thanks. No, but it is very light. Still seems pretty durable though. I feel a lot more comfortable having the ventureshield film on it though since being so low I'm sure it would have gotten a lot of rock chips and gotten beaten up pretty quickly.
Thanks. For me, the screws were not to keep the lip secure to the car (the 5 bolts do that fine on their own) but to get the lip to sit flush to the car. Without the self-tapping screws (3 on each end) there would have been a gap between the lip and the bumper. These are pretty tiny screws that easily screw in (I just used a little stubby screwdriver) in a location where nobody would ever notice. Let me know if you need any addl info. |

nice mod. I have the same lip and used the self tap screws as well. I'm thinking about adding the splitter that they sell for the lip also.

Thanks everybody! The splitter/lip attachment is a little extra. I didn't want anything too bulky or with more chance of scraping pavement though. I will definitely post more pics next week w/ side profile, etc when I get my new wheels on.
As far as the mounting goes the 3m tape was pretty cheap at home depot. The big roll was $16 and I used little less than half of it. The tape helps keep the lip snug to the underside of the bumper. Since it looks like the lip was made by fiberglassing/molding to the stock bumper, there were 5 little impressions where the stock 8mm bolts go. I just pre-drilled these out and reused the stock bolts. After this the lip felt very secure but these are replica lips and not perfect so each one may fit a little differently. It will probably be very obvious where there are little gaps between the lip and bumper. These are the areas I would use a few screws to close the gaps and get a nice flush fit. I ended up putting 3 screws each at the far ends of each lip. |

In process of getting my bumper refinished and I am in the market for a new lip. This looks promising since it doesn't require drilling into the bumper. I was also looking for a Challenge rep but have had no luck. Looking forward to the better pics.

Looks great, but I don't think you used enough tape...I can still see some of the lip between the strips of tape.
