Ericsson Trunk Installed - Review
Hey guys ... I had a chance to install my trunk yesterday after it went through intensive prep work. I would like to say "Thank You" to Ryan Julian and Paul @ RJ's Paint shop in Pleasanton for doing an excellent job and working on this trunk. Guys deserve nothing but
About the trunk: 1. Since it is FRP part, expect to do some prep work 2. It was a bit PITA to transfer all factory parts on it 3. You still need to drill some holes to install you lock and the harness 4. Trunk fits very good and you have around 13 adjustment points to make it fit right 5. Estimated installation time ~ 4h (if you want it to be like OEM) Pictures: Prep work On the car LT Side Top Center Bottom Side view Tail lights RT Side Top Center Bottom Side view Tail lights Where to buy: I got it through RennSpec. Shipping was super fast and the price was very good! So feel free to contact Simon. I'll post more pictures soon when the installation is 100% complete. I still have to install 2 major parts - 1. BMW Emblem and 2. M3 badge I hope this will help you guys to decide if you want it or not |

Nice post, looks good but it obviously isn't 100% perfect.
Do you recommend getting it unpainted and having the shop that is installing do it? |

I mean a couple vendors offer it painted. So I'm wondering if its better to have it come unpainted, have it fit, and then painted.

Looks super! Quick question though, it looks like there is no indentation for the roundel....?

since the rear roundel has double sided tape on it, I decided not to drill any more holes and attach it via that sticky tape ... I don't think it is necessary to drill the holes.

Aleks, the end result justifies all the hard work that went into prepping the trunk. It came out AWESOME!

Thanks Kev ... Yeah, Ryan painted it two or three times because he didn't like the way it was ... so, I just saw the final result ... But after of 4h helping them to install it he told me one thing ... " Now you know why we need to charge more, because with stuff like that it is never easy"
