My first BMW started production! What to do while I wait?
I've been lurking this forum for awhile to see what the next M3 would be or info.. after much debate and looking at other cars I decided to order "the last of the V8's" and since I couldn't find the exact specs I wanted at the time. Well, today I see that it's in production and I'll be doing a PCD in May!
I've become completely obsessed with looking at others cars and planning my additions for it when it comes home. AW/Bk/CL ZCP DCT ZPP Apps EPS heated Thanks to the community for posting great threads! I guess I'll be driving the car in Forza/GT5 until then... a shame I won't have it for track day this month but I'm sure it's worth the wait! I'm ready to hear that V8 scream (after break in). Planned mods: Either GTS BLK wheels or powder coat the ones that come with it (any thoughts?) Black Chrome grills & gills Tint Akrapovic Ti Exhaust BMW CF spoiler Arkym or Vorsteiner front & rear not sure if I should do all at once or over time... guess I have time to think about it. Thanks, All! The wait is killing me! |

Do what (and many others) did, download the manual and the supplement and read them over and over and over until delivery!

Congrats on the order. I am considering powdercoating my ZCP wheels also, think I may contact IND about it. I would recommend you do the same to start piling up the mods. I suggest doing some minor appearance stuff first then moving on the exhaust/mechanical stuff. One you start modding, i is hard to stop though.
Good luck and enjoy! CP

Take a vacation so you aren't thinking about the wait.

Congrats on the order. What to do while waiting for delivery? I suggest talking to your doctor about a medically induced coma. The wait is torture and it will build every day. Do yourself a favor, go to sleep until the day before pick-up.

Congrats!!! You will be enjoy it...for now just day dream about it which is part of life and part of the process...
My advice regarding mods are: - BMW M Performance Exhaust - I researched all the exhausts in the market and this is by far the best fit for the E92 for all the right reasons = oem, perfect balance sound and no drone...sublime...I had an E60 M5 with SS & X-pipe, and this is as addictive as that one and believe the S85 V10 engine sound is as good as it gets... - All exterior blk trim but ONLY with blk GTS wheels... - BMC Air Filter - Tint maybe??? No more than that, keep it as oem stock as possible...regarding the CF spoiler too big for my taste, in all of my cars I have the small lips which I think is a cleaner look...just my opinion...

1. download manual and memorize how to customize the 99 million things to customize. That way when you pick up, you can just spend 30 minutes doing it, and not risk crashing your car while driving and customizing all options.
2. view the Photos part of this forum and masturbate to photos of other M3s. |

I went through phases. At first after ordering I was reading the manuals cover to cover and that kind of thing. After a bit though with quite a bit of time to wait the initial excitement wore off and I kind of put it on the mental back burner. Now mine has hit San Diego and shows finishing touches on mybmw which I understand means its at the vehicle processing center and will soon be on a truck rolling north to the Pacific Northwest. The car has most def moved back to the front burner now.

Don't order anything until you get the car. I ordered stuff ( lip & CF emblems) & ended up selling it new here because tatstes changed. Time out your mods so you don't get sick of the car. It's a great car but easily taken forgranted unless you drive other cars.
