Blackstone oil analysis

Hi all,

as I am waiting for a SC kit to arrive I've decided to take a oil sample on last change and send it to blackstone. Car has 20 xxx miles so far and I reached that following common break in and warm up guidelines with oil changes every 5k miles. So here is the result, cheers!

Nice! This should allow you to sleep better! I plan to do a analysis on the next oil change as well, it can't hurt.

Keep in mind your 2013 does not use the older bearings containing lead and copper. So your oil analysis should not show any lead and copper. For signs of increased bearing wear, keep an eye on aluminum and tin on the 2013.

What has been observed is the original 088/089 bearings are a copper/lead content while the 702/703 bearings are of an aluminized tin/silicon compound.
Complete discussion of bearing history and compounds of each can be found here:

RG, the bearing thread has information overload!! I can't wait until I rack up around 5,000 miles and do an UOA on M1 0W40 I'm currently running..I guess it's time to monitor aluminum level as well.

Then where's the copper from in rslavujevic's UOA?

I don't know the answer. Maybe Kawasaki00 does.

Yeah, I had several UOAs from the E46 and E86 showing lead, although not major amounts.
