6NR FSC Codes

Where in the world do you buy the BMW Apps FSC code? Every dealer I call has no idea what I am talking about even when I have pulled the number from ETK/EPC. I really don't feel like spending 3x the amount on a vendor solution for the coding an extras as I am experienced and have the equipment. I may just ditch my combox and go with an NBT EVO.

I don't even think apps works on these cars with CIC anymore. No longer supported. You're going to have to switch to NBT if you want that stuff to work.

If I recall correctly BMW Apps do work, Assist does not.

I dunno about that... I have a 2011, and can't even register my car for a new connected drive acct because it's too old. Said I would have to upgrade hardware.

Connected drive still works along with plug in. You just don't get assist. You don't need to login to use the connected classic app. I thought about just saying screw it and upgrading to NBT EVO, but the price difference is a little much. Even doing on my own the cheapest I could get everything was $1400. Even if I pay for the FSC code I will only be under $400 for the whole combox retrofit with 6NR. Bought and nstalled the combox, AV usb port(for video streaming) and FBAS wiring all for $175. EVO is nice, but not worth spending an extra $1000.

I have a few combox models. I have two from eBay. One is the wrong type (bn2010). The other is good, but I ended up buying a next gen from a dealer to get BMW assist back up and running.

Hey mate, are you able to tell me the part number for the AV USB port you purchased?

I'm hoping to get an iPhone 4s working in my armrest as a video/Apple Music streamer that I can leave in the car. I bought a MEDIA snap in that I (perhaps naively) thought would work, but the armrest slot only seem to be charging it (and possibly boosting the signal strength).

I'm a bit confused by all the option codes for the video feature, but upon further reading it would seem I don't have the necessary stuff already in my car for it to work just yet. I have an early 2011 with combox and bluetooth streaming. I don't have BMW Apps.

Im thinking about downgrading my cic to use apps without a code. Unless theres a better solution than paying hundreds.

You just need to tap fbas into your snap on connector.

Yes apps work with ANY iPhone. I regularly use MLaptimer (w/go pro Hero5), Tunein. 2011 CIC Combox retrofit. You do not need FSC for video playback from 4s. You need fbas wiring and aux wiring.
