If this IS it, I can't believe this wasn't mentioned in the ad when you bought it. This could be the coolest bonus I've ever heard of!

schweet! The car did sound extra badass to me, for what I assumed was a stock car. Now this explains that.

Anyway, here's the outcome. Very close. Passenger window was open fyi.

Definitely proves that I'm not the Fast & Furious demographic! I'm told old for that sh*t.

Thanks again, everyone!
Phoenix, good stuff and I am glad to see you are enjoying the BPM tune, I know I am! Do you remember what RPM you started at and what gear you where in?

SYZ might correct me, but I think we slowed down to about 45mph to get started which must've been 2nd gear about 4000 or so RPM.

Maybe Mike can chime in here or it may have been answered already but WHY aren't our cars coming from the factory tuned this way? There is no doubt in my mind that what Mike is offering is rock solid. So why doesn't BMW deliver the M3 like this with this software?

That's a question that you could ask of every car maker though. All cars can be tuned to gain extra performance. The factory is more concerned with overall safety margins than with the minor extra performance gained.

I agree with Mike. It could be said that 414hp is an achievement in its own right. In fact the twin turbo V8 in the X5/6 non-M SUV's have an extra 100hp that Dinan can pull out with their tune and boost control.

I think it also allows for car manufacturers to monetize on those who want every bit of HP left on the table.

The X5M/X6M has a lot of untapped room.

Here is a link with a dyno on one of them that we did awhile ago:

And a little vid from one recently.

They are VERY fast with a tune. Pre tune I used to beat the X5M in the first link. Post tune is was a different story.

If I stay in MN any longer I'm definitely gonna pick one of these up!
