BROKEN LIP

So last night, my lip flew off and only the splitter cracked. I think a body shop down here can make me a new splitter but is it really necessary? Can I just mount the lip without it?

If you use beta link I suppose so. But using just tape it’ll end up flying off again probably

Well my issue was just mounting it with bolts. Lip came with nothing to mount it with so I did my own DIY with six bolts. I think the 3M taped wouldve helped. My theory is the bolts loosened up, air got through and ripped it off. I was going 130mph. Details I shouldve mentioned.

Yes def supposed to use tape and the screws. Even the BMW small splitters make u used tape and screws.
Tape only on the spoiler works fine because airflow is pushing the spoiler down onto the trunk but on the front the air is always pulling the splitter down and away from the bumper which is why you def need both or adhesive

Eh well it happens. What’s the broken part made of?

Fiber glass or polyurethane. Not 100% sure. The lip is fiberglass with carbon on the front so I assume the splitter might be fiberglass as well.

I MAY be wrong but I think you can repair fiber glass yourself. And just sand and refinish it since it’s under the car and out of sight it doesn’t have to be perfect

Looks so much better without the second lip/splitter... those always make the front look so busy.

It looked exactly the same. You couldnt see the splitter. It was underneath the car.
