Swiss 2013 BMW E93 M3 | Supercharged | Build Thread

Hi all!

I finally decided to start a build thread since I just got the ESS G1 Supercharged Kit delivered.

So, after owning E38 and E46 before I finally bought my dream car a E9x M3:

I chose E93 over E92 simply because I live in the Italian part of Switzerland, which means Mediterranean climate so this + listening to S65 with top down I'm definitely not a racer type of guy so I don't mind extra weight of the vert. Well, to be clear, it's very noticeable unfortunately and sure I'd love it to be lighter but the roof down + valves open is just pure ecstasy

The car is 2013 in Space Grey with DCT. I bought it completely stock, but since then the following happened:

- aftermarket headlights (these are just some aliexpres headlights, I'm not proud of them, they meant to be only temporary till I get my bayoptics but that got postponed due to issues with getting them approved in Switzerland)
- New wheels of course. I took a gamble and went for "golden" version which turned out to be waaaay to "gold digger" look than I anticipated so for 2024 I got another set which just got delivered this week but I'll leave that for next post. These (on the picture below) are 19" 9.5/10.5 custom made from local Swiss company. On them, there are 265/30 + 285/30 tires.
- Exhaust. It's Aulitzky exhaust (German manufacturer). Valved. Quiet as OEM (or maybe even quieter) with valves closed and thunder with valves open. Middle section stock (for now)
- Front lip. Not sure what this style is called at the end, I saw it with a few names already.
- Rear trunk lip was already there when I bought the car.
- Right now as I write this post, the car is in the workshop getting TTV Lightweight flywheel installed as well as CMP Solid Subframe Raising Bushes (+ some other OEM stuff like new diff bushings, guibo, central propshaft bearing, etc).
- Sitting in my living room now is ESS G1 Supercharger Kit. This will get installed in the next 2 - 3 weeks.
- Carbon Klasse (half) Carbon Intake Manifold, but that will of course get replaced soon by ESS manifold.
- At the moment car is on lowering springs but suspension (and brakes) will get upgraded in near future too

So first update here as things have progressed since my first post.

First of all. TTV Lightweight flywheel and "CMP Solid Subframe Raising Bushes (+ some other OEM stuff like new diff bushings, guibo, central propshaft bearing, etc)." have been installed. My impressions:

TTV Flywheel - disappointing, unfortunately. I see/feel no difference in revving. I'm not saying there isn't a difference, probably if I had some before and after videos maybe I'd see the difference. So the only thing I "gained" is the chutter of the flywheel. This was of course expected. It's not much, can definitely leave with it. Something that I wasn't expecting (I had E46 with lightweight flywheel before so I'm used to little extra chatter) - starting the car sounds awful Cranking sounds noticeable different (in a bad way) and surprisingly DCT seems to get a little confused at times. It happens maybe like once a week that it feel that shifts are out of sync or RPM drops/raises randomly. Possibly this will fade away with time and as I said it only happens occasionally so not a big deal.

CMP Solid Subframe Raising Bushes + the rest of the drivetrain - definitely noticable improvement but not as huge of a difference as I was expecting. This could be due to fact that my car is 2013 so possibly OEM bushings were still in okeish. Overall I'm very happy - as I said the difference is still noticeable, car feels way better in corners.

ESS G1 - I installed supercharger last weekend so can't say much yet as I only drove for 10 minutes to check if everything is good. I was not supposed to rev it for the first 320km but ow boy I already accidentally hit 7000RPM when I just wanted to do a light 3000 - 5000 RPM pull. What a monster!! Feels like vert lost half of the weight. But that's just initial impression for 10 minute drive so will need more time to get a full picture

Do you have any more impressions with the ESS to update on? The new one comes with the updated heat exchanger right?

I'm on vacation now so not yet fully tested but I did already about 200km and so far it's great. I love the car 100x more now. Especially crazy improvement in most useful mid-range. Quick overtaking is so easy now. Yes, it came with new manifold and new heat exchanger. IAT are surprisingly low, but again I didn't push it to the limits yet. I did some spirited driving already but that was like for a minute with max 7000RPM. With 22*C outside I saw max 39*C IAT which is nothing. I was expecting more 60 - 70*C or so (which again! maybe I'll see when doing proper driving). The only thing I don't like about the kit is how ridiculously heavy (and ugly) the manifold is
