Please help: coding new SMC headlight module

Hi,

I have a new installation of bmw tools, and a good working cable ( I can read with this cable with INPA, and also programmed my 335i many times using MHD on the phone).

I am trying to program the new headlight I installed into my 2009 M3 coupe (long story short, had to replace complete headlight) so the automatic headlight control stops popping up errors and beeping at me.. Its' a unit from another E92 bmw, not sure what year, but identical to what I had.

I get "error in cabd! SG antworted nicht FRM_87, ID_SMC_lessen: ERROR_ECU_BUSY_REPEAT_REQUEST"

Which seems to be pointing to the SMC coming back to the FRM with "ecu busy". Have you seen this before, could it be a faulty SMC module in this headlight ?

I am using NCSexpert 4.01 and the e89 daten files which I downloaded together from bimmergeeks.net/downloads.

At this stage I gave up and ordered another smc module on ebay, coming from a similar car, same part number, I plan to replace it and try again...

Please let me know if you have seen this or have any idea what to try.
The current headlight is like new, from a car which was totaled on the rear, so front was untouched.

Thanks

well, for what it's worth, it worked. I used NCSexpert and SG_Codieren job, and it worked. The module was fried though; I bought a new one on Ebay for 35 bucks (china made) , and it worked like a charm. Both my headlights now move and I have the side cornering light coming up when you turn the wheel more ...
the error was due to the module being .. obviously busy, as it was not there.

its usually easier to scan the module with ncs identify what the prg is then use tool32, write the vin with the checksum
