Bleeding procedure for swapping front BBK

I will be swapping out my front Stoptech st40 kit with a st60 kit. When it comes to bleeding, should I start with the traditional way of starting with the rear and work my way forward even though I'm just swapping the front? Or should I just bleed the fronts only? I Installed the full st40 kit (front & rear) about 3 weeks ago. I will be using my Motive brake bleeder. Any info will help. Thanks.

You should also perform the abs pump bleed procedure through a scan tool. It will get any air out of the dsc/abs system.

Is the Fox well nt510 capable of doing that? I have one but never really used it much?:

I have the Professional BMW/MINI Scan Tool by Schwaben, the manual says it is capable of ABS/DSC component activation.

How would I go about this process once attached to the car? Which brake bleeder would be open, ect.

Thank you,

Yes the Foxwell NT510 works. I have it and have performed the procedure on my F02 750, F10 M5, and E39 M5. It is compatible with most all BMW's.

This procedure is only necessary when you remove brake lines and/or calipers, where air can be introduced into the brake system.

I do however perform this procedure after any brake work and I feel it firms up the pedal feel.

Thank you,
Bleed your brakes manually first with a Motive type pressure bleeder - RR, LR, RF, LF.

Then connect a scan tool like the Foxwell NT510 and perform the bleed procedure. Once you're connected to the car and you get to menu, the scan tool will walk you through it. It's interactive....you'll have to press the brake pedal when it tells you.

Does Richbot know you're switching out the 40's for 60's? I'm surprised he's not been in here yet and given you the business.

Thanks for the info. I shall perform this tomorrow!

I'm not familiar with him? What's the issue with switching from st40 to st60?:

Some would argue the ST40 In front is adequate. Lighter caliper and rotor. Ability to rotate pads. Vs the ST60
