"18 BBS Motorsport E88 - Black with Polished Lips - *NEW*

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
Once again I'm selling what I believe is the Holy Grail wheel for the BMW M3 - The BBS E88. I have been working with BBS for nearly 10 years and have sold numerous sets of E88's. The centers used on this set were made by BBS at my request in order to allow a 3" rear lip with 295's! I purchased this set for myself but mistakenly assumed that the new center would clear my rear Essex AP Racing brakes. Whoops!

Wheel Model:
BBS Motorsports E88

For those of you who aren't familiar with this wheel - They are made to order by BBS to the buyer's specification. They are a forged 3-piece wheel. This wheel is the same BBS product you see at the track in pro-level racing. Do not compare this to BBS street wheels as the Motorsports division is separate and makes bespoke products for their customers. Each component is readily available from BBS. If you damage a lip or barrel you can easily source the individual component that was damaged. This differs from BBS street wheels as you can not buy individual components from BBS. These are the real deal - Retailing for over $6k per set.

Note that I am a BBS dealer and I have had numerous sets of these wheels and can advise on fitment.

Size:
18 x 10 et24 (2" lips)
18 x 11 et24 (3" lips)

* Fitment Notes *
Front - This spec allows for 265, 275 or 285mm front tires but if you have coilovers that reduce inner clearance you will need to either use a spacer, install a shorter spring, or remove the helper spring.

Rear - This spec allows for the use of 295/30/18, 285/35/18 and 295/35/18 on e92. Plus 295/35/18 (and possibly 305/35/18) on E90

Note that all of these fitments are dependent upon tire sizes, alignment settings and other factors. I will consult you on the best option for you.

Style: This is the non-center cap version of the E88 (can not accept center caps). It is known as the 'open lug pocket' E88. It's personally my favorite style, providing a racey look. Most tracks do not allow center caps; this is the wheel to get for track use.

Condition:
NEW - only installed rear tires and test fit - not a single revolution of use. SEE PICTURES

Big Brake Clearance:
Fits - OE E92 M3 brakes, Brembo 365/345, Stoptech 380/355, Essex AP Racing Pro 5000 front

Does NOT Fit - Essex Racing AP Pro5000 Kit (rear only - Front fits), or Brembo 380mm kits

Tires:
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 Tires available for an additional cost. Tires have 2k miles of use and 1 track day. Tread depth is 7.5/32 to 8/32 (as new) on the rear tires, same on the inside of front tires. Outer edge of front tires have more wear due to track use.

285/30/18
295/30/18

Location:
Santa Barbara, CA - will ship

Price - Wheels: ** SOLD! **

I don't want to come across as being vulgar. I saw the first picture of the wheel and the first thing that came to mind was MotherFucker.

I did not sell them. I was planning to install on my personal car but I could be convinced to sell if you are interested. They will actually be having tires mounted on them on Monday. Alternatively I can order in a set for you. PM if interested.
