R.I.P. Lucifer M3
This is a sad development.
Even worse, there are still some who will drink and drive. This is reinforcement for all of us that being responsible 24/7 when driving is a matter of life and death. R.I.P. Lucifer M3

truly sad. this really resonates with me. we have to remember that even the smallest mistake on the road could cost us or others' our lives. we should go out of our way to pay attention to the road, not to drink and drive, drive over aggressively, or even so much as text/internet search/use apps. We really owe to ourselves and everyone around us to drive at full attention. RIP Lucifer M3. Truly.

What sucks is the location of the accident is very close to several tracks: Sebring, Homestead, PBIR/Moroso, Daytona, Robeling Road and Road Atlanta.

I've seen this type thing several times and its amazing the amount of energy used to rip a car apart. The fact that anyone ever survives this kind of crash is astonishing. RIP

Anyone reading this thread should take a good hard look at what a SMALL tree can do to a car in a situation like this.
I'm sure we all go fast on the street occasionally. The only good that can come from this is keeping in mind what can happen at the speeds that are very easily achieved in these cars. Please be careful out there and get in touch with ALL of your your own limits.

I used to live 2 miles from there....its a very tempting road with the kind of curve that begs for more speed. God bless his family!! |

They just instituted a 0.05 limit where I live.
If you blow 0.05 to 0.08 -- you get a roadside suspension If you blow over 0.08 they take away your licence AND CAR for 90 days. No ifs ands or buts. This is a wake up call not to drink and drive EVER. It's not worth it. RIP Lucifer M3

R.I.P. And may we all learn from the mistakes of others. If anything good can come from this is that we should all never take for granted how dangerous driving can potentially be.
On a different subject, I wonder how much reinforcement that CF roof really provides. That tree does not see to be that big. Wouldn't steel at least bend a little and maybe absorb some of the impact? Versus CF which just breaks?

Lol, there's no way that a steel (or any other material known to man) roof would have made a difference in this crash. The car was ripped completely in 2 pieces.
RIP.
