Seat belt hook wont grab?

The seat belt hook on my drivers side never hooks. It's not anything bad or I would take it to the dealer for but it soooooo annoying. Nothing is wrong, everything looks identical to the passenger side. It comes forward normal but doesn't grab the belt.

Anybody else ever have this problem?

Are you talking about "Benson" the seatbelt attendant? I misunderstood you..I thought your seatbelt wouldn't lock. You shouldn't have to adjust anything to get "Benson" to pass you the seatbelt...........Phil

Mine has been repaired by the dealer about four times now. They will fix it but it'll probably come back.

Over half the time, I just grab it like normal instead of waiting for the automation to occur.

Mine does the same thing, probably 50% of the time. I too, just grab the belt after a mild XXXXX.

Bring it in under warranty, they fixed mine. It's a revised spring and arm.

Just had mine fixed last week, didn't work for a few months, finally brought it in. Works perfectly now, almost as if the receiver wasn't coming al the way out to.

I had this problem with my 335 and had it replaced 4 times, found out from my dealer they keep them in stock due to constant failure. Just run it in and they will replace Geeves. Takes a few hours though

Do you have a 08? I noticed the 08/07 3 series has a weaker Jeeves..

haha I call them Geeve's.

They are a big time fail though, they look super cheap and can break easily.

My passengers side has always worked, however my drivers side.... Well, long story short, three dealer visits, broken interior panel, stern talk with the Service Manager, and a new seat belt later it was fixed. It's really the seat belt that's the problem. It gets worn and bends then the arm can't "catch" it.

I just had the dealer order me another one. I'm sure it'll stop working again. I knew that it would be the first thing to break in the car.

This has happened to me too. Turns out there's an SIB out for the nylon strands in the seat belt actually becoming less rigid over time, causing the belt to slip off the extender arm. Dealer warrantied it and I got a whole new seat belt.
