Akra Titanium Tips - Before / After

I just bought an Akra rear section with Ti tips off a member here on the forum (M3 JP). Given my climate of rain, snow and salt in the winter, I'm not going to bother with the rest of the system.

The tips sure do clean up nicely though! This stuff is miracle ointment. Comes in a pre-moistened cotton-ish feel fiber kind of material. Tear off a chunk and go to work. Walmart for about $5, if I recall.

Very nice! How much time did you spend on each tip? I just bought some to clean up mine before I sell it.

I probably spent maybe :30 min on each tip, and used about an 1/8 of the can. Not too bad.

Yes the tips look fantastic! I'll admit that I didn't wash them when I cleaned up the car, so that was an area of neglect. Simple things do great work! Enjoy your exhaust bro, it always put a smile on my face when I pressed the "go" button!

It definitely requires a little 'elbow-polish'! Put your shoulder into it.

I use this stuff too and it works. You should expect to wipe it down a couple times with pressure to get the heavily caked areas clean.

I just read a forum post by "the tech" of BPM fame - they said they did theirs with denatured alcohol and a brush - going to try that route first... after all it's just greasy PM10 (particulate matter 10) so alcohol should work. I have a set of Ti tips sitting around as I have the CF ones on the car - wanted to clean them up before selling. Will chime back.

Just use nvr dull. Seems like the suggested method is more time consuming than a piece of nvr dull and a mf towel

I just used a wet MF towel to get the top layer off. Then went in with the nevr-dull.
