I think they are only made for states with front plates. I am wanting to try it for my rear plate. I have noticed alot of cars locally with German, GB and even Japanese plates on the rear of the car. I don't get it. Talked with a few and said they have never been pulled over.

I don't believe this is legal. If memory serves, there is a law regulating the shape and size of license plates, and a subsection of that law which states that the alteration or modification of license plates is forbidden.

i am 100% certain youre not allowed to use plates like that. cops can give you a ticket for having non-standard license plates. i know this because a friend of mine got pulled over for using one of those license plate decals to avoid drilling his bumper.

I have a german style plate on the front of my car and i've never been pulled over. I think since in Qc we don't have a provincial licence plate on the front so I think that's why we can put a euro plate there

What exactly is the point? Looks weird to me and no mention of legality.

yea, my friend who got pulled over was in vancouver, where front plates are required. if no front plates are needed then you dont have to worry with that you put in the front.

Yes they do. I saw it. Maybe they just added it.

Irregardless, I think you are more likely to get pulled over WITH one of those on your car as it will stand out like a sore thumb.

I just keep my "new car paperwork" stuck to the lower right corner of the windshield (like when you bought the car). Cops see you coming with no plate, see the "new car paperwork" in the windshield, and think nothing of it.

No problems in nearly 3 years.....

When I did not have that paper in the windshield with other cars...problems.

Having that little piece of paper in the windshield is a small price to pay for not having a front plate IMHO. I don't even notice it is there anymore.
