ZCP Jerez Black Coupe - Wrapped in Matte Alumium

After owning my m3 for a couple of months I realized that a dark color in NY is a headache. Every time I get a car wash I just see more and more swirl marks and scratches. If this was a daily driver and garaged during bad weather I wouldn't have an issue but considering it's my daily driver whether rain or snow it's very difficult to keep clean. So this was a perfect excuse to wrap my car. I wanted a light color but nothing obnoxious, just something simple but exclusive with a classy and sporty touch. At first I was considering a light matte gunmetal but we have done a few of them in the past couple of months so I wanted to get something different that we haven't done yet. Finally made up my mind and decided to go with a matte silver. Arlon offers a Matte Aluminium color that I haven't seen yet and it looked great in the swatch book so I pulled the trigger and ordered the roll.

Just to quickly go over the process... We first clay bar the full vehicle to get rid of any dirt, grease or anything that can prevent from the vinyl sticking without any additional adhesive. Next step is we remove as many items around the car as possible in order to tuck the vinyl without it having a chance to lift. Depending on where you get a car wash certain places have high pressure water and it can get everywhere so to prevent anything lifting in the future we push the vinyl back as far into the cracks as we can. After we remove all the panels, trims, lights...etc we get into all the cracks that that didn't get touched during the clay process and clean it with alcohol and a few other products. After that's done we start the wrapping procedure which takes a couple of days.

I have a few pictures that I took during the process, let me know what you guys think. Better pictures of the finished process to come.

Nice job, looks really good! I would be tempted to do the same thing in your shoes. For a garage kept fun car Jerez works for me. Do you have more pics?

Looks great! Really nice job!

I'm wrapping my 80s 911 and its helluva headache. For cars with perfect paint / bodywork vinyl wrapping is a good idea. For an older car with less than perfect paint it comes a huge battle (ask me how I know )

I'm really digging that dark silver beside yours. But both look so clean! How much does this run? I'm only a few hours from NY and that shop looks like they do fantastic work.

Instead of washing your car, you should just wrap it a new color every time.
