The Hotel may be the Fairfield Marriott. Let me know if you have a better idea or know of a better hotel in the Greenbrier Valley. I'll make another post once I have time.

How early would we start heading back on the 16th? If the majority of the driving is on the 15th I may just make a loooong day of it.

Actually, I'm thinking we should move the date to Oct 22-23. The Greenbrier Resort, which is very near by to the roads I want to drive on, is completely booked on the 15-16. This is a hotel where the "cheap" room is $550/night. Most Presidents have stayed here as well. Because that is completely booked, I think something big, possibly government related, is going on which could mean road closures.

I said the 15-16 because it was the clear winner but due to this activity, 22-23 seems like a better bet. Hotels are wide open. Thoughts?

I'd favor Oct 22-23. Although the $550/night hotel might be a hard sell with the boss. Or were you thinking we'd all stay elsewhere?

I'm hoping this happens.

One option may be to bunk in western VA overnight and then head into WV. Day 1 can involve driving parts of VA. Day 2 we can drive into WV. We could probably get better rates in VA.

Just called the Greenbrier. It's booked for wedding on the 15th and 16th. Should be no road closures but depending on when guests start arriving the roads immediately surrounding the Resort could see a little congestion. I'm down for whenever since I finally have my M back and now have no job (really opens up your calendar!)

Just voted. Won't be bringing the M most likely though. Itching to get the Z out in the country.

I'm thinking if the majority can attend (and voted for) Oct 15-16th. Then go with that and skip the hotel idea for this run maybe?

No idea yet. Still waiting for Darkstar to finally confirm the dates. The 15-16th seems like a no go considering the wedding. Me and the Mrs are down for the 22nd and the 23rd. Its the tail end of October which means we will be able to see the change in colors

Sounds nice. I'm sure someone on here will get some nice pictures. I'll try but I suck at taking pictures.

Sorry for being absent guys, I've been in Jamaica all week on honeymoon. I think we should do the 22-23rd and stay at the Marriott http://www.marriott.com/fairfield-in...-tour/intro-4/ I was just using the Greenbrier as a measurement for how busy the area will be - it's too expensive for me, especially after paying for Jamaica

Does that work? I'll make this final when I get back to the states on Tuesday.
