Buying e90 M3 but NEED new wheels and tires!

Hello all,

I found an e90 M3 i'm really interested in buying, it was a dealer trade in BUT it only has the winter wheel/tire set up. I would need to buy new wheels and tires right away. The winter wheels are $200 tire rack wheels.

I always liked the stock wheels, and even more the 19" 359 Competition wheels, but are there any good wheels similar to the 359 competition wheels you guys can steer me towards? better quality and lighter and cheaper? Looks like pretty much all I've seen on ebay are $500 ea. I don't want a cheapy heavy tire either! But I've never purchased aftermarket wheels on a car. This will by a daily driver...

I was always fine with the stock 18" wheels, but if I buy this M3, I will have to purchase wheels and tires off the bat, I will have to fork out $3500-$4000, and they are pretty firm on price knowingly. Any good deals out there? even for the 18" stock wheels?

Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You can buy a used OE 359 set for 2k or under.
Some popular aftermarket options. Better quality and cheaper don't really go together lol.

- APEX Arc8
- BBS Chr
- Forgestar F14
- HRE FF01

Used 359M are usually $1500 or so. There are VMR replicas which may be cheaper, and many better choices if you want to spend more.
For tires, I say Michelin PS4S if you're in a warmer climate, and AS3+ in more diverse climates. If you get a lot of snow, best to get PS4S and keep your dedicated winter setup.

I wouldn't let the wheel/tires steer you away from the otherwise-right car.

I have read a lot of good reviews on the Apex line, worth a look.

Welcome to the forum, you have to post pics of your M3 if you pull the trigger.

Apex EC-7 look similar to the 359's, they are cheaper and lighter but probably not stronger. If you want relatively cheap, light, and strong take a look at the Titan-7 line.

Check your local forum section and the classifieds on here, loads of wheels including stock for sale. You can pickup a set of 220m's for well under $1k.

If you are fine with stock M3 wheels, it is usually possible to find a set of 18s or 19s with usable tires on craigslist for around $1k any time that you need them. ZCP wheels are a bit harder.

Direct swap? No fitment issues? Do you have spacers?

I do like those wheels

513m
18x9 et29
18x10 et40

front is same offset so no need for spacers
the 513m clears my stoptech st60 brake calipers upfront without any spacers

stock offset for e9x m3 is et23
so I had 12mm and now 18mm spacers in the rear

Thanks everyone! This is what I hate!! Too many options!!!

I like the 359 style but the Apex SM-10 are nice too! so once I decide on style, then its size and color. Car is black and I always liked black on black. Any other color combo nice on black? I'm new to buying wheels... I was slightly against this car having to buy wheels and tires up front, but you guys just shifted the thinking. And positive note is this will be a daily driver and I live in Philadelphia, so winter set up i'll already have.

Any suggestions on nice wheels to look into? I don't want to lower car, so what size would give it best stance. I think 18"s would be fine, but let me know what you guys think! I like practicality but unique.....Also, would like a good buy and not the most expensive set out but definitely not heavy and cheap....

honestly, try looking at the regional forums as you'll see sellers offering oem e90 m3 18/19 wheel tire combos for 1-1.5k. Get the car for now, but keep your eyes open for a wheel tire combo as they come up often...

here is an example:

You could always go with Avant Garde 359M which is a one to one rep, a lot of people here are running it

OP, wondering if you ended up buying that car. I traded my jet black 2011 e90 with winter tires on. I'm wondering if that was mine lol that'd be cool

Are they a direct fit and flush or does it need spacers?
