Should The OEM Underfloor Sub Box Be Closed?

Hi All

Im replacing my underfloor subs with some SWS 8 and noticed that the underfloor enclosure, isn't really an enclosure at all. It has side vents which go into the chassis somewhere.



Would you close this off, or leave it open?

I've closed mine off like this


Any help would be appreciated....

I don't think you want to do that. It is designed to use the door sills as volume for the subwoofer.

Really? I may have to open this up again then, I just didnt want there to any/major air leaks....
