Anyway, 10 laps around COTA will be a tough challenge tonight.

See ya guys out there!

On our Tuesday standalone race at COTA, tsk94 took the win! We had 6 guys duking out. Was a lot of fun.

Tonight is our first race in the 10-race series! COTA is again the venue.

I am very impressed with the driving skill I'm seeing from the other drivers in Assetto Corsa. There are guys putting down some very impressive lap times.

I have to laugh at myself----I am struggling to let go of my time attack-style thinking. Wheel-to-wheel racing is definitely not my natural instinct. When I look at a group of cars, my first thought is not to jump into the fray. My natural inclination is to back off and make room.....haha! When I do jump in, I end up staring at the car in front of me instead of driving the track......then I spin or run off the track and lose the group.......so sad.

Anyway, for me this is accomplishing what I had hoped-----get a few enthusiasts together and have fun doing some online racing. I've enjoyed meeting some more guys from the forum!

I am way off pace and am not trying to punt anyone.

In the words of Will Rogers, "we can't all be heroes. Someone has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by."

Success tonight would be 10 laps without a spin.

10 laps around COTA without a spin during a race is definitely not easy.

If you're able to get a USB headset, it would be great to have you on the Discord audio chat. Honestly, there's almost no chat during the racing----aside from me muttering and cursing at myself......but before and after can be lively!

Looking forward to tonights race!

As dogbone mentioned, it's usually pretty silent during race - until someone screws up at least But it's great to be able to chat with everyone before and afterwards, so definitely recommended.

Yeah it's silent cause me and dogbone are concentrating as hard as we can to "try" to stay within 3 secs a lap of you and Andrew - and we still fail miserably and spin all over the place (at least I do - I think Gabe kept it on track last time!).

I didn't spin in the 10 lap race! Was happy about that. And I even avoided T-boning OG Shark as he was pirouetting like a figure skater!!!!

I don't know what was more impressive - you making it the whole race without spinning or me predicting that I would spin at 11 and then doing it on the first lap Felt like Babe Ruth calling my shot!

You haven't sent me the code yet that unlocks the soft tires for us yet like you said you were going to. Please remember to do that before the race.

Your fortune telling powers are impressive to be sure! My not spinning is simply due to me being slow......

Nice try!!! Clearly with my results, I am not using a cheat code.

No doubt.

btw, (I'm learning as I go here)-----For people getting on Discord----Discord is also a phone app so you don't necessarily need a headset on your computer to use it. I think I'm going to try it tonight on my phone.

Alright, Week 1 of the Dogbone Racing League is in the books!

The first race saw eight racers. The start was a melee. I got bumped in Turn 1 and then spun in turn 6. I was over-driving after that to catch up and that never goes well---spun several times. I am sad to say that I came in last......it was brutal.....hahaha. On the Tuesday practice race, I came in 4th, but Thursday was just a nasty start and I never recovered.

So here are the results from Week 1 at COTA:

Tonight is on to Sonoma for the practice race. Sonoma is a very tough course. For me personally, I know the course in real life but not much in the video game world. I'm preparing for more pain!
