Same skeezeball sales guy referenced above actually built this into his sales pitch. How he can get away with allegedly joyriding at 160MPH (then selling it as new), but not letting you dyno or track the car is ridiculous.

Only thing that will be trolling is your transmission after you use launch control.
Flame fest on.

I can't say I tested the Idrive in any other BMW models but I'm perfectly fine with the IDrive on my 09. I like it much better then the interface I tried on a C63AMG.
Anyways, enough about radio controls. I wish I had a chance to test out the GTR. I'm sure it's fast and precise and godly on the track... but what's the point if you can't even use it for what it was built for? The GTR is a car without a purpose. It's a track vehicle that cannot be tracked without fear of breaking and voiding warranty. It's got seats for 4 (It's a 2+2 right?), and a large boot for your gear but who the hell buys one to take on trips or to the country club? The vehicle drives itself. The computers do more of the driving then the driver. This is the argument of why it has a "video game" feel to it. You're going fast, no doubt. But anyone with experience behind a machine built more for enjoyment and "feel" then just to put down sheer numbers will understand. I know I'm just bench racing but I've read countless threads on this subject and this seems to be the deciding factor for me. Why build a car that can achieve such phenomenal feats but not allow the driver to experience it's full capabilities? Would you date a super hot high maintenance girl if you know all she would ever do was give you a handjob at best? I know Porsche and BMW will stand behind their cars. Why not Nissan? BTW, I was a Nissan Fanboy pre - GTR hype. edit: I just reread my post and I think it came out a little harsher then I wanted... Sorry to any GTR owners or fans. I actually wanted to be first in line for when the GTR came out but after hearing about jacked up prices and then the warranty issues came out... I had to back down.

i have a 2006 ML500 and it's COMMAND about as bad as it gets, totally un-userfriendly and you have to reach up to the dash for everything....i much prefer my first gen idrive.... just the concept of having the controller near the shifter that controls everything vs. a maze of buttons up on the dash is superior

I guess in the end, would you guys rather have their centralized interfaces or 100 buttons all around the cockpit?
rapistwit: Any more pics of your CLK Black? I absolutely love that car and hope to import one into Canada someday.

It's funny when owners of other vehicles see their car in the "M3 vs.." section and run to defend their car. Like you said before Slammed, there's no point in getting this car. If you touch the door "handle" wrong, you lose your warranty. The GTR has impressive numbers but can't say I like the styling or the video game display. I haven't been able to try this in the GTR yet but i heard you get more boost if you enter Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, B, A. |

What I find funny is owners of certain cars trashing another car repeatedly without bothering to even drive it. And its especially funny reading certain people in modified cars trashing another vehicle over a weak warranty. |
