maserati gran turismo

Today I saw a Gran Turismo (I assume the base 405 hp model, but not sure) - very nice looking deep blue color. Just out of curiosity, I wanted to see how my E93 would keep up with it. We both started around 15 mph, with the GT slightly in front of me. I actually pulled on him a little bit, and when we got to 50 (slightly over the limit), we both let off the gas - we were both going pretty hard, but neither one of us was going to go more than about 5 over the limit (speed limit pretty tightly enforced in that area). I was impressed that I actually pulled on him, but after looking up the stats for both cars, the E93 has slightly more hp (414 vs. 405) and a little less weight (about 100 lbs lighter than GT when equipped with M DCT).

It would have been interesting to see the results had we been on a road where we really could have opened it up without risking an accident or ticket. Anyone else on here had a chance to really open it up (under safe conditions of course) with a Maserati? Just curious to hear the results.

the non- s car is a little slower than our cars. it is a BIG coupe. I have been in an S and can tell you in sport mode it sounds like it has straight headers.

Yes - a very nice and exclusive looking car too. I guess it is my respect for Maseratis that made the experience that much more satisfying. I just didn't realize at the time that the Gran Turismo weighed even more than the E93!!

i was also in the new quotroporte and it is a HUGE improvement over the previous car. slight changes but enough to put it into the next level.
