ESS 575 Breaking Up Issue

Recently started to experience an issue with my ESS 575 kit Manual e90 m3

Vehicle has 130k on it and about 7k miles ago i installed an ESS 575 kit. Plugs at the time were LKR8AP and had about 25k on them. plugs were not changed during the S/C install and the car drove flawlessly made 530whp on a dyno jet on 93 with the ESS tune.

Last week it started to show signs of spark blow out only under half or more throttle about when the boost would really come on. Went ahead and swapped the plugs with brand new LKR8AP but the issue remained.

Temperatures are in the low 30s to high 20s here in Michigan.

Wondering if this could possibly be the coil packs causing an issue? or if there is anything else i should be on the look out for?

Car idles and drives fine until you start to try and get into boost.

Thanks
Guys

Any codes present? I have seen coil packs go bad at higher miles, especially under boost which puts more load on them. Thats what I would look into first.

No Codes present.

My guess was the coil packs as they are more than likely the OEM ones with 130k. but i wanted to maybe get some second opinions

Thanks for the response!

When my coil packs started to act up there were no codes. I agree thats a good place to start.

How does boost put more load on an ignition coil?

More air and fuel to ignite seems to put more stress on the coils. We especially see this on turbo engines with tunes. Coils seem to not last as long with higher than stock boost levels.

130k , get new ignition coils. I was getting hesitation on top. Went though idler pulley, new belts, smaller belt, then ignition coils. I'm on a ESS 625 w BPM tune and it runs great!

First thing would be change plugs. 10k is the max on a set of plugs with a S/C. You were way over that before you even started.

I know i was way over and surprisingly had zero issues. Plugs have since been changed but the issue remained. ill be doing ignition coils this week. hopefully it solves the issue.
