Update on the Kremersino:

While testing today, I had very poor treble audio quality coming from my unit. I swapped over the unit to my brother's unit and it had the same problem. I started to dig into the settings and found under settings > common > volume, it was set to max. I naturally thing this is common because as soon as I dropped this to 14-15 out of 30, the treble quality came back. I am not sure how it got up to 30 but putting it back to 15 keeps the audio at a very acceptable level.

I am not sure if the older units have this option after getting the update? It helped my situation and I'm happy with the unit now. I tested Siri while driving on the bridge, and it understood me clearly even though my tires are loud and noisy.

Does anyone has the last update for NBT? I want to test those audio settings before sending my unit for a swap. Michael keeps telling me that they are going to create a website with the updates and that’s why he doesn’t sent me anything yet.

iPhone volume is as max volume for BT audio.
derbo Have been watching this thread with great interest, thanks for sharing your experience so far. Registered to ask a few questions about your experience:
  • Are you routing Carplay audio through car's Enhanced Bluetooth?
  • Is your vehicle an E90 with CIC nav?
  • Do your steering wheel buttons work with Carplay, at least volume and track controls?

Carplay audio is routed through AUX.

You can change volume with the steering wheel buttons. Changing tracks with the steering wheel buttons only works in carplay mode. If you switch out of carplay and have the Idrive screen up, the steering wheel buttons for changing track does not work.

I have wired carplay module if you want to take a look. I'm also from PDX.

Like Lucky7 said,

It utilizes AUX IN. Not the best but not the worse either.

Yes, I have not heard of Apple Carplay on CCC.

Steering wheels work with car play skipping. The skip tracks on the center unit does not work.

derbo You mentioned Kremersino is the OEM that makes the joyeauto wired units too. Do you know if they provide software upgrades for the joyeauto units?

Your brother has the wired unit, has he tried a Kremersino software update on his joyeauto unit?

Thanks for all your testing btw.

I've got the Joyeauto Carplay for CCC (wired). Install was smooth except there was no audio at all!

Turns out that the carplay harness tries to tap into the factory aux via the quadlock harness in the back of the head unit. If your car has the aux/usb option (6FL), your aux does not plug into the back of the head unit; it plugs into the mulf2 unit in the trunk. So I basically needed to pull the aux pins from the carplay harness and splice it into an aux cable with a 3.5mm plug which I then ran into the armrest to plug directly into the audio jack. Works perfect but definitely not plug and play. Just a word of warning for those looking for CCC carplay.

I did not ask Micheal if they could update the wired unit from joy auto. That wold be neat if they could. I'll ask.

Shipping back the unit cost me $34 from USPS flat rate international, and another $33 for the new unit (their explanation was extra cost of the newer components, yadayada).

I was only able to play with it for an hour, but the bass is restored and it sounds acceptable.

I have my HiFi set to max treble , 4 from max, bass and gain at 50%.
iPhone volume is as max volume for BT audio.
I wonder if mines any different...

Just got a WeTransfer for the latest update from Michael. Anyone know what the update fixes?

derbo - have you tried a phone call over Carplay since you got the new module?

I tried using Siri for dictation for responding to text and it understood me well enough. I have not tried the phone though.

I also just got an update sent to me from Michael listing 10-30 as the update date. I'll hopefully get this installed maybe Tuesday night.

OK, thx. Was curious if any other changes were made to the box other than sound output processing for more bass.

I'll try to install the update tonight or tomorrow as well. I'm still on the "old" wireless CP box. Haven't done the swap yet as a) too lazy and b) don't want to be w/o it for 7-10 days.

Yea, I totally understand. Unless you remove the wiring, your CIC screen will be blank. The car will still drive though. Since my car isn't my daily driver and I was pissed off at the unit, I just said screw it and sucked it up to pay the extra money. It's not the best thing in the world but this is probably the best customer service response I've seen from a Chinese company.

Can anyone share the latest update?

Haven't had time to go through the hassle of taking the box out of my car and sending it back for the swap to the new wireless unit, might have time before Christmas.

True, my assumption was essentially no support when buying something off Aliexpress, have been delighted to be proved wrong.

Does anyone's CarPlay auto play Spotify when it connects? Can't get it to work. I suspect Apple Music may since it's a native app

This is default behavior for all ACP.

I have a silent song to prevent it from auto playing the first alphabetical song.

I deleted the Apple Music app to prevent it ever auto playing.

I used to have a 10 minute blank song on my phone as a work around.

That one song that starts with AAAAAAA or whatever! Verizon Wireless includes Apple Music with our data plan, so I'm naturally using Apple Music and canceled Spotify.

Moderators shoudl just change the title of this thread to ACP China module retrofit instead of JoyAuto.
