Additive BMW dealer put with oil change

I sent my car for an oil change at dealer once. Most items checks out as usual except this

1x PP115 AP* Extended Life MOA

I tried to find it online. The closest I got is BG's Extended Life MOA with Part# PN115.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it(good/bad?) and where to get it if they are actually good/ok?

thx

Guess this? https://www.bgprod.com/catalog/engin...extended-life/

Personally don't see the need for it but wouldn't worry. As long as they used proper 10w60 oil?

Cheers

Ps. And would personally not extend the oil change even with the formula added (although that seems to be the point). But thats just me.

They sold you that shitty snake oil? Those BG products sole purpose in life if to provide a kickback to service writers.

Personally, if they did that to my car and I didn't ask for it, I would ask for a full refund of the total cost or another complimentary oil change without that garbage. I also would never do an oil change at the dealer, but if you must, don't let them mess with your cars engine without asking.

Thanks for your inputs. Certainly interesting info. I asked purely out of curiosity. The additive is about 17buck on the check, I won't bother my time for that. They gave me BMW 10W-60 and it does seem running a lot quiter than Castro and that's fine.
Besides, I am doing my own oil change now every ~5K miles. No additive is probably just fine.

cheers

That's common for dealer recommended services. Not factory recommended services. I work for Toyota as an ASM and we offer BG products on our 5K interval services adding in the 44K (fuel additive) and MOA (motor oil additive)
