Interested. Any pic of it installed?

What's the benefit over the stock PS fluid container?

Assuming this will prevent PS fluid from spraying all over the engine bay on track?

This tank is taller than the stock unit which will keep the fluid inside the tank and keep it from spraying out of the stock unit when the fluid expands under track and even spirited street use. Its a great alternative to expensive aftermarket tanks since it works with the stock lines, is a Geniune BMW part and works with the stock bracket.

This is correct.

Here is a photo of it mounted in the factory mount

Searching the 1 series forums and found they still have issues with over flow on tightb tracks

Power steering fluid overflow during track conditions? https://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=280027

Well afaik, the 1 series doesn't have a power steering cooler like the M3. So it seems like with the upgraded reservoir in combination with the cooler is *just* sufficient enough to stop the leaking.

Also, your comment made me remember there was already a DIY thread on this upgrade before. And Tom from EAS says they've had success with using this on their M3 race cars.

Thread: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1116958

Basically what OP has done is already did the legwork for setting up a clean fitting adapter compared to all the Frankenstein trial and error in the above thread.

Well I'm in for one. OP, you got PM!

So the feed and return ports of this new one are switched as compared to the original PS reservoir?

I've ran my car as well as a heavier M5 at the track with these and we did about 6 hot laps with this tank and my fluid remained in the tank but I also have the Do88 PS cooler.

They are in the same location, lower port is a bit longer than the factory.

There was an article linked above that said the ports were switched. Something about there being fluid cavitation if the ports are reversed.

Can you confirm?

This setup has been shown to work on the track so on street there will be no issues.

I prolly need one of these too.

Every time I park my car after a spirited drive, it sounds like an elf is throwing cold water on top of a hot BBQ grill underneath my damn hood as I walk away.

I've did this "fix" last year and am sorry to say I still need to tie a sock around the reservoir as it still leaks/sprays under heavy track load conditions. Granted I'm supercharged but there's no magic here folks.
