It's a BMW message forum....pretty sure most people post things on here to just chat about shit to pass the time when their boss isn't watching while they're at work. While I'm obviously not a fan of Trump, I do view these message boards as a form of entertainment....not trying to break any new ground here with political commentary or anything like that.

Speak for yourself, there's two things I hate:

1. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures.
2. The Dutch.

Again, there are people supporting both candidates that are racists; probably at the same rate too. The media and the uninformed think that only Trump supporters do. This poll only proves whites are racists towards black, which we knew, but it doesnt show the ratings the blacks had of the whites or the Trump/Hillary supporters views of whites.

Also, as I have told you multiple times across multiple threads, I am not a Trump supporter. Although, I should have known who I was dealing with here.

not sure if serious or trolling....

there is no context to the poll with no background data and only select data pulled from it to shape an agenda. That is what I am saying.

Add to it the graphic states that 7,800 people were polled, where the article states 16,000 were polled, and you can see why the intelligent here are questioning the poll vs believing it as the end all be all.

33% of all whites in the poll had the same "racist" views. Since trump only has 1% of the African American Vote, (http://www.qu.edu/news-and-events/qu...ReleaseID=2363 what a real poll with results looks like btw), you can infer that a similar number of white Trump Supporters and White Hillary Supporters have the same views, since there is no data to back up the claims.

This poll also had Bernie Supporters, which most are now Hillary supporters, and had results for the same questions asked, but did not list them in the graphic. There are so many inconsistencies and omissions from the graphic to be able to conclude anything other than Reuters wanted a click bait headline and article to trick the ignorant into believing.

Based on your other arguments youve had, you are only capable of reading one source and believing everything it says vs critically thinking and analyzing the source and its content. Hopefully one day you will learn this skill and you wont have to rely on what other people tell you to believe.
As I love to say.......If its on the internet, it must be true ........

Lol, did you not read the title of my thread? The poll does say both candidates have racist supporters (my own thread title states as such). But it also indicates Trump has almost twice as many.

Tell me, who are you dealing with here?

Im not sure if you can actually read or not... Saying Trumps supporters are more racists is an inaccurate statement backed by a skewed poll. That is the whole premise of my stance. One that you cant wrap your mind around apparently.

I searched the Reuters/Ipsos website for data on this poll and couldn't find any reference to it.

I happend to click on another to see wha kind of data they do divulge. This is comical at best, slanderous and deceitful at worst.

Quote:
Half of all Americans support President Barack Obama's executive actions on gun control, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found on Tuesday, with a majority saying they would support the next president taking additional steps to tighten federal gun laws.

Obama, frustrated with inaction from lawmakers, ordered stricter gun rules last week that he can impose without Congress' help, angering Republicans who say he is overstepping the boundaries of his office.

Fifty percent of those surveyed said they supported Obama's executive actions. More than 80 percent of those from his own party said they were in favor of his steps, while 72 percent of Republicans opposed them and said his successor should try to dismantle them.

Guns have become a potent, polarizing issue in U.S. politics. The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to bear arms, a right that is fiercely defended. Congress has not approved major gun-control legislation since the 1990s.

Respondents from both parties support more research into the causes of gun violence, the poll showed. Nearly 80 percent of Democrats and 66 percent of Republicans said they would support the next president, who takes office next January after the Nov. 8 election, pushing for more research.

Republicans are split on efforts to tighten gun control more broadly. Forty-four percent of those polled said the next president should work to tighten federal gun control laws, while 49 percent were opposed.

Sixty-three percent of Americans overall said they would like to see the next president push for stricter gun laws.

The survey of 1,559 Americans was conducted from Jan. 8 to 12, with a credibility interval of 3.2 percentage points.
I don't care how much math you throw at these results, there is no way i'll ever believe the data extracted from these preselected 1559 people speak for the 350million Americans.

This is the only explanation i could find regards to how they collect the data.

Quote:
These are findings from an Ipsos poll conducted January 8-12, 2016 on behalf Thomson Reuters. For the survey, a sample of 1,463 adults age 18+ from the continental U.S., Alaska and Hawaii was interviewed online in English.

The sample for this study was randomly drawn from Ipsos’s online panel (see link below for more info on “Access Panels and Recruitment”), partner online panel sources, and “river” sampling (see link below for more info on the Ipsos “Ampario Overview” sample method) and does not rely on a population frame in the traditional sense. Ipsos uses fixed sample targets, unique to each study, in drawing sample. After a sample has been obtained from the Ipsos panel, Ipsos calibrates respondent characteristics to be representative of the U.S. Population using standard procedures such as raking-ratio adjustments. The source of these population targets is U.S. Census 2015 American Community Survey data. The sample drawn for this study reflects fixed sample targets on demographics. Post-hoc weights were made to the population characteristics on gender, age, region, race/ethnicity and income.

Statistical margins of error are not applicable to online polls. All sample surveys and polls may be subject to other sources of error, including, but not limited to coverage error and measurement error.
Nope, not easy at all to craft charts and data any way you want to when you have your own online panel to poll.

I actually don't know what you, or any other person on this board are. I do know what intelligence and educational attainment mean and I suspect that you do, as well. If you meant educational attainment, say educational attainment. Using the word intelligence brings up something really ugly and unseemly. Word selection when discussing race, intelligence, racial attributes, etc., is critical.

Your post, as many in this thread seem do be doing, drifted down a path of racism. This is the problem with the poll. If you want accurate information on racism, follow someone around with a hidden camera and listen to their conversation with their friends, etc. While we may, 'wear the mask that grins and lies', in public, the internet and its seeming anonymity give people the, 'courage' to say what they really feel. It's a fantastic phenomenon.

Polls of this nature are notoriously inaccurate AND the results can be skewed by the nature and presentation of the questions. I believe that this is the case with this poll.

We are all racist in some degree or another. We are all classist. We are all a bit sexist. It is human nature to give a break to those who are most like you and look askance at those who are a bit different. The place that is gets screwed up is when people act on it.

Cheers-mk

P.S. I actually enjoy reading what you write, though I don't always agree with you. I don't think that you are racist which is why I was shocked to read what your post said.

Surprisingly, statistically yes 1,559 is enough ASSUMING all 1,559 were chosen completely at random and in various places across the US.

A sample size of 1,559 out of a population of 350 million people would equate to about a 99% confidence level and around a 3.5% margin of error.

Otherwise all polls and surveys related to national matters would be useless, no one has time to go out and ask millions or even hundred of thousands of Americans survey questions. Granted there's other factors at play here and surveys tend to be less scientific than polls but I'm just strictly speaking to sample sizes as they relate to the entire population.

You have to be trolling.... for humanities sake, i hope you are.

There were 25% more Clinton supporters polled than Trump supporters. So when Trump supporters are at 30% (404 people) and Clinton supporters are at 20% (370 people) the difference is negligible.

The poll is shit and it's been created to dilute what little intelligence most Americans have when it comes to choosing a leader for the country.

I'm not saying we have ANY decent choices for leaders of this country, but what they are doing with the "poll results" is down right deceitful to the uninformed, uneducated, or those who don't care and just want something to support their shallow belief.
